GMail loads most recent message

How do I get GMail to stop loading my most recent message on load? I am OK with it if it is a new message, but if I don't have a new message, I would prefer it to load the converstion list. I hate having to back out one level everytime I load GMail.

check under settings for the gmail app, under auto-advance, choose conversation list as the option. see if this doesnt help. thats what i have mine set to and each time i open it, it goes to the conversations list.

Mine was already set to conversation list.

Mail - - menu - settings - more -send & receive - download options.. then set to today's. See if that work for you.

I'm having the same problem and would like it to go back to the conversation when reentering gmail. Any solution so far?

In Gmail settings, you can turn off the "conversation list" and get emails separated.
