On my non-rooted Froyo UCKH1 Infuse 4G, my Gmail refuses to sync in real-time. When I get new e-mail, the time between when the e-mail was sent and the time when I receive the e-mail ranges from 2 minutes to as much as 30 minutes. This is a huge source of irritation because I like having my e-mail arrive as they are sent.
I can tell that my phone isn't the problem, because I have an Exchange account set up on the E-mail app (the @ icon) for my school, and I receive e-mail from that account instantly.
There are no task killers installed on my phone. Background data and auto-sync are both enabled. My Google account settings are set to sync only Gmail, nothing else.
In the settings within the Gmail app, I have the notifications set to notify me for every message (check box is unchecked), notify me in status bar, default ringtone is postman, and vibrate.
I am signed in to Google Talk 24/7.
Given all this, what could be preventing Gmail from syncing in real-time? I tried factory data resetting, but that did not solve the problem. It doesn't seem to matter whether my phone is in Wi-Fi or the mobile network.
Please, I need answers. This is very annoying and sometimes frustrating. Any help could be of use, so please do not hesitate to post your suggestions.
Thanks in advance.
