Question Gmail seems to queue messages instead of sending them.

With Gmail accounts, messages I try to send seem to be stuck in a queueing process and I don't know how to get out of it.

Is this the primary Gmail account, or a secondary Gmail account that you added to the app?

And just to be sure -- you're not referring to some non-Gmail address you added to your Gmail app, right? I've seen this kind of thing happen when the Gmail app is being used as a client for non-Gmail accounts.

Should be primary, but I'm not sure why it doesn't think I'm the primary user.

I'm not sure what's going on but it seems the queued messages are building up.

Maybe a setting got changed, you can reset the Gmail app by clearing it's app data and force stop it and see if everything goes back to normal

Are you using a VPN? Have you had any issues with cell or wi-fi reception?

Does that mean that the only solution is to change email services?

This happens without a VPN and no apparent connection issues. Will try a force stop, but will have to see if it happens with future messages.

I merged your other thread into this one, since it's essentially about the same issue.

Can you test this while on mobile data alone, vs wi-fi, and test it on multiple different wi-fi networks as well. Does the same thing happen regardless of the network?
