Gmail Setup on Stock V10 Mail App

Can anyone advise how to successfully setup a Gmail account on the stock mail app on LG V10?

Are you getting an error message when you try to set it up? I particularly HATE gmails app. I always used the stock, less clutter and easier on the eyes.
