Is there a way to specify the amount of time between each sync for Gmail? I looked in Accounts and in the Gmail settings but found nothing useful. Ideas?

You could get an app called JuiceDefender that lets you control how often your data connection is active. You can set it to every 10 minutes or every 45 minutes...whatever interval you want.

If you're wanting it to sync faster... the answer is no. (I use K9 Mail for my email needs instead of the gmail app)

If you're wanting to save battery... the answer is yes via juice defender and similar apps that turn your data connection on and off automatically.

you could disable push notifications, and set it to a fetch schedule to adjust it through the stock client, not the gmail app
