A week ago I tried to access gmail and it kept asking me for my password, which I would enter and it wouldn't work. The gmail password is 100% correct (it worked before). But I didn't need it that bad so I forgot about it.

Today I try to access the Market and it keeps asking me to enter what I see on the screen (one of those 'distorted' words that you type in). I type it in then it asks me for my gmail address, which I type in and it takes me back to the 'distorted' word thing...rinse and repeat. It's an endless loop.

Any help appreciated.

That is weird. I know sometimes you need to enter the "@gmail.com" when typing your username. You are probably getting the captcha (distorted words) because Gmail things you typed your password in incorrectly too many times.

Go online and try to login and reset your password, then try to login on your phone.

Gmail is all screwed up in my phone. Not syncing, not sending email. It's a pain right now.

Well, Verizon support had me hard reset the phone so I lost a ton of stuff. We did a 'backup' prior to resetting but I still lost all my paid/free apps, settings, LauncherPro, memos, documents, etc. I did retain my music and most of the 'Hidden Menu' settings remained.

So I just spent several hours reconfiguring my phone, and this was nothing I did. Gmail just got a hair up it's ass and decided to 'disable' my account.

Verizon said that they were unable to even find out what apps I had downloaded so they credited my account $50. TBH, all this BS wasn't worth $50.

Hating my phone, Verizon, and google right now.

If you paid for apps via the marketplace, you can download them all again. Just go to the menu in the marketplace and go to "downloads". It should show all your downloaded apps as well as purchased apps. Hope this helps.

That doesn't work. I had to create a new gmail account and I think all that stuff is linked to the gmail account.

Did you contact google to see what happened to your account? It sounds like something on their end...
I tried (quickly) and just using their 'Contact Us' link didn't seem too easy to contact them. It's as if they don't really want you contacting them.

I would try continuing to contact them. It is a customer service issue especially since you purchased apps through them. Hopefully they can resolve your issue and get your account and apps back.
