GN 2 to GN3 Using Samsung Smart Switch App?

Have a Verizon GN 3 on order. I'm going to transfer the SIM card from the GN2 to the GN 3. Do I do that before I use the Samsung Smart Switch app to move my contacts and other info to the new phone?

I might be mistaken, if I remember correctly, Smart Switch doesn't work with Verizon Samsung devices.

If I may, a better method for the future would be to store your contacts with Google.

This way no matter which phone you choose for now on (including the iPhone) your contacts follow you once you buy your new phone and sign into your account. Thus eliminating the need to move contacts from one phone to another.

I stopped storing contacts in Google years ago. Every e-mail address, including spam was automatically made a contact clogging up my phone book.

yea im pretty new to android and I use google to save contacts but i hate the email clients being saved automatically. Anyone know how to take that off?

The only info that ends up in my address book from Gmail is my Google+ contacts if they are not merged, and while I prefer they not be there its just something that happens and I don't get upset about it. Still I would prefer more control. But since they are cutting off support for EAS soonish, and MS still hasn't supported CalDav and CardDav there isn't another real option right now.
