goggle and cards

I have accidently swiped all my cards from google, it now says " no google cards right now...... customize".... I the go into customize, select many cards , but there is no OK button or ACCEPT....so when I leave... it still shows no cards, not even weather.... how do I add cards back?

It will re-add them by itself but not immediately. For example it will add prompts to TV and movies during the evening but often that card is gone in the morning.
