Going Back to iPhone 5

Re: Going Back to Iphone 5

Depends on the ROM. For AOSP ROM's yes, this is the case. But get a phone with Sense or Touchwiz and those apps are still there.

Besides, Google provides the GAPPS to flash, so it's really a non-issue.
Yeah, I only like to use AOKP which is AOSP based.

Re: Going Back to Iphone 5

Nope, you can change EVERYTHING, from the font to lockscreen to multitasking to icon look, to custom sounds to custom animations live wallpapers, widgets etc it's the same thing. Even better about Jailbreaking is that you don't have to wipe your device to jailbreak and get features only some custom ROM's have. Tell me how I can make my Nexus 4 fully gesture based like Zypher on iOS?

Personally I prefer Cydia for installing tweaks.
I bet you can't do this type of layout. Vertical scrolling. It's the new thing. http://mycolorscreen.com/2013/03/30/plus-ui-3/

That would be sweet on a tablet or big screen like a note.

Honestly,I don't know. Its certainly possible though with the right amount of tweaks.

I don't know, that sounds like pure speculation. No matter what anyone points out you could say "...it is certainly possible, with the right amount of tweaks". There is nothing remotely like that you can point to in use, so I would say that pretty much ends the debate.

Re: Going Back to Iphone 5

I can understand some of OP's points.

I went back-and-forth between iOS & android because...

I love iTunes. As a Mac user my iTunes library has Protected Purchases and it's so much easier with Sync but I got tired of Apple's 3.5" Screen and UI. I kept going back because Ice Cream Sandwich wasn't polished but that all changed when Jelly Bean came out and I discovered Nova Launcher Prime.

I did upgrade to iPhone 5 (Black, 64GB) I wanted to try it and knew I can make money off it. I sold it after a week.

Unless Apple changes iOS completely I won't bother with 5S/6.

Re: Going Back to Iphone 5

I'll be setting up a tutorial for this latest theme shortly on www.mycolorscreen.com/badbrad. You can watch it and do whatever is in your power to duplicate the functions.

Basically the large icons are links to a specific app. But the small icon in the corners are links to folders. I have a custom battery bar at the top that changes colors as the battery gets lower and a toggle widget for turning things off and on. All of this was designed on my phone. I didn't use photoshop or anything. It uses Zooper widget and UCCW. The background has a transparency to it, so if I change the wallpaper it is completely changes the look. Rooting is not necessary for this.

The second image below is my lock screen.

I have the 3 buttons linking directly to my camera, voice command and weather app. So they are there instantly. I also see notifications for missed calls, texts and email. Also has a live weather feed and a custom locker slider.

I'd love to see you do something like this on your iPhone. And this is really the tip of the iceberg. There are other themes that make this look simple.

Re: Going Back to Iphone 5

Impressive. but im not willing to put the time into. btw how did you set your one up?
Sorry not sure what you mean about setting my One up. I have a nexus. They take a little bit of time. If you watch the tutorial it would only take an hour or less on your Nexus 4.

I created the shapes and style in UCCW. It's a fun theme. It's a bit more complicated and sucks some battery with all the widgets but it looks cool because the pages flip when you tap them. Check out the video to see it. I got a ton of traffic on that one and screen of the day.

Re: Going Back to Iphone 5

Maybe I misunderstood what you meant. Did you mean how did I setup this theme? http://mycolorscreen.com/2013/04/20/holo-tabs-2/ or the new one I posted the screen shot of?

I did a video for that one. You can get the list of required widgets in the youtube description or directly from www.mycolorscreen.com/badbrad they link to the play store. There is also a lockscreen tutorial. All of my files for the setup are in the description. You just need to unzip it and copy all the files to the main folder on your N4.

The only issue I had with that theme was that the hotspots I created in UCCW don't always flip to the proper page. It appears to be a bug or something. I created a work around with Zooper widget and other people have used power toggles.

Follow the video tutorial and let me know how you make out.
