Going back to iPhone ...

If the iphone 5 has a bigger screen then I might go back to iphone as well. If not, then i'm looking at the galaxy note.

I'd have to say I agree with the OP on this one for a lot of the same reasons. I have a Motorola Atrix, which I have had for a few months & I am really missing my iPhone. One thing I really hate about my Atrix is playing Words With Friends. It never updates well when someone else plays a word. I can close the game out & restart it and it still won't show the other person has played a word. Then all of a sudden I get notified minutes to hours later that the other person played a word when they actually played the word right after me. It'll say they played their word like 6 hours ago, which is correct. It never did that on my iPhone. It would update almost instantly, and I know it's Android and not just my phone because I know others with different Android phone & it does it to them too. That is just one thing that drives me insane! Plus, most of the other things the OP posted about why they miss their iPhone. Looks like I'll be going back when the iPhone 5 comes out. I really wanted to like Android too. Oh well, it happens!

The latest version of Words with friends seems to fix the issue stated. It now allows you to pick an interval that it will check for new words.

I still have my old iphone 4 and plan on selling it on ebay.

I was at first enamored with my infuse, I love android , i love the superamoled plus technology.. however samsung keeps on disappointing me time after time with the hardware quality of the phones. From my issues with the captivate I thought I would never own a samsung phone again.

My infuse recently decided to not charge or not be recognized via USB cable on my computer. Went through several chargers/battery and still no dice. Figure its a defective port. AT&T is no help.. all they did was send me on my way with a number to call warranty so I could wait a whole week for a phone to be mailed to me. Find out during some research, that others have had this problem .

I then realized how carefree having an Iphone was. I never worried about defective phones/rebooting/software issues ,because If i did have a problem , I could walk out of an apple store right that very moment with a phone in hand! no downtime! I am sorry to say, but I will be selling my infuse once I get it in the mail and waiting a month for the new Iphone.. these manufacturers just can't get it right!

Nope, I have the latest version. It still does it. I've had 3 different Android phones & they all were like that. It's very annoying. It crashes here & there too. Was never like that on my iPhone.

I totally agree with you M24. I started off with the Captivate. I had nothing but problems! I hated that phone. The iPhone never gave me any problems. I went with Android because I love to customize my phone. I don't even care about that anymore. I always end up back to the iPhone. I should know better. The iPhone just plain works! I never had reboots or crashes or any of that.

Speaking in general here, not to anyone in this forum. Remember the time of the smartphone, before the iPhone. It was just windows mobile and blackberry. Most people that used it were in business or tech because it was the next best thing from the PDA. An all-in-one device that not many people cared for or seemed that it was too much for what they needed in a phone. Then the iPhone came out and just blew that away. I was a windows mobile user, and admittedly was a little jealous but after seeing what it was capable of, not really that impressed. I'm a power user/customizer and thanks to windows mobile and the devs at XDA, I had all I needed. The only real thing I was jealous about were the apps that the iPhone had. More polished and just looked great. But the OS held its potential back which was why I held off until the 3GS. By the time of the 3GS, majority of the people were rocking the iPhones. Why? because it just worked. Very simple to use, beautiful apps. Point and touch use. What did you need the phone to do? Just touch the app, if not, get it in the app store. So, because of that, it brought more people in and blurred the smartphone line of power user to normal user. So much that, my PARENTS are rocking the iPhone, per my recommendation. My parents were using a "smartphone" and that's when I realized, I have the same phone as my parents. They don't even ask me questions about it after the first week. They just knew. Now, with the way Android is heading, and what it's capable of, customizing and newer hardware. People are thinking they're ready for something like android and all the possibilities. I don't think the public general user or even those same users that had the iPhone are ready. So I think that is why there are lots that go back to the iPhone. I showed my sister, who rocks an iPhone, what I could do on my Infuse. She's an RN by the way. Her quote is, "No, that is too much phone for me. I don't think normal people will understand that." I was just transferring files from my computer to my phone through wifi while I was remotely in my laptop. So I feel, the standard phone for normal users, should be the iPhone if they want to make that leap from a regular phone. It should have its own section under smartphone. Android should be labeled something higher. Superphone? I still think that old windows mobile is more capable than iOS, even now. Those that don't get it, don't worry about it. But I do understand why most people switch back. And by all means, do it if that makes your phone experience better. We have enough stresses in this world.

*edit I've had this in my head for quite some time now. Glad to get it out there.

it is an Android forum. No reason people can't say why they want to go back to Apple. Go read the iPhone forums.....same thing.

What I can say is that none of my iPhones have ever been as stable as those that say they are going back to it for stability reasons. In fact, other than my dad who does very little with his iPhone, the rest have stability issues. Maybe we just do to much with them.

In the end you have your choice and thats fine.

I miss 2 things - the music player was decent though I always wanted more....and the fact that it kept the same volume settings depending on headphones or speakers. I can live considering I don't have to hack the phone to make it do what I need it to.

Competition is good, it keeps the quality high(er) and the prices low(er)...sometimes.

2nd point is right on, I've had many apps that have crashed on me, froze on me. There's some that will have an app frozen in install mode and don't even realize to restart the phone let alone know how to hard reboot it. Even helped friends out with worse problems. I've pushed my Infuse 10 harder than I could ever do with the iPhone in only a couple months. Yes it has crashed a couple times, because it was my fault. When i'm not toying with it, yes it's stable. I have never returned a "defective" phone because of the OS. An OS that did make me really scream, Windows ME. *shudders* Haven't uttered that OS's name in years.

Anyone who thinks people with iPhones don't have problems just isn't doing their research. If you had an iPhone before that was great, you are just as likely to get another one that isn't. I have a lot of customers with iPhones and I have given up asking why they had it replaced when they call me to ask what their E-Mail password is because the got a replacement iPhone. Twice just last week.

I, on the other hand, have been very fortunate with my Samsung phones including my Focus.

The fragmentation of Android does bother me. I don't like that if I get a software update then it breaks the compatibility with apps. Or a game that a friend is playing on his Android device doesn't work on mine or vice versa. This is one of the crucial areas that Apple does right.

But that is because Apple is the only company that produces iOS devices...

Even if they weren't it would be the same. All wp7 devices run everything because of strict hardware control. If apple ever licensed iOS (which I doubt they would) it would be the same scenario.

Regardless, that is the benefit of having an iPhone. This goes for updates as well. When there is an update to the iPhone everyone gets them at the same time, not some staggered rollout like we get with Android. Don't get me wrong, the Android experience is great, but there is some cleaning up to do in multiple areas.

As I recall, some of the iOS updates broke multiple things. So did OS X. So did Win Xp, Vista & 7.

The perfect platform is the.... good old land line. Nothing stops that right? Oh Wait, my city just got flooded. No land lines.

Having any smartphone is living on the bleeding edge, I don't give a damn about how great people think Apple is. iOS 5 will not support 3G, only 3GS and up. I also hear the 3GS isn't the best with it.

If you don't have problems with the iPhone, you just don't do enough with it.

Why should iOS5 support an iPhone 3G? That phone came out over 3 yrs ago. What current phone company still updates 3 yr hardware when they have newer hardware to support? Does Windows still support XP? Also, the reason ios5 isn't to good on the 3GS is because of the hardware limitations. They make new software to take advantage of the new hardware not to take advantage of the hardware they released 2 yrs ago.

I still dont understand the War between the Android and iPhone'zillas. They both have good pros, and cons. Its funny though, Every time theres someone that tries to say one is better then the other, I will stick up for the exact opposite and give them a good reason why the opposite is better then their saintly tech. Idiots just dont understand i suppose.

I wouldn't call them idiots. But I guess the problem is that people are still unsure as to what they want. With so many advancements in phone tech, there are so many choices and people are trying a lot of different hardware and software and trying to determine what fits their needs. I be gone back and forth and back again with different phones and hardware and may very well switch again if I see something else that is intriguing. And I will defend my choices every time. It doesn't seem to make sense, but that's how it is.
