Going naked with a pixel.

I don't agree.

Smartphones are not investments. They are perishable pieces of technology.

If you spend $900 on a phone and then sell it a year later for $400, then the phone $900 phone only cost me $500. You can then take the $400 and put it towards your next phone. I can then buy another $900 phone which would again only cost $500. Obviously phone s are not "investments" But by getting a much back for one, significantly reduces the price of your next phone. So why spend $900 and end up chipping and scratching it all up thus getting next to nothing back for it. So $20 worth of protection can equal hundreds of dollars.

I have the Spigen carbon case on mine which I absolutely love, and yesterday when I dropped my phone down some metal stairs, 1.5 flights to be exact, it really paid off. Not a scratch luckily enough. But I'm seriously tempted to get the black camo dbrand skin, looks so nice. and I agree, you forget how nice this phone feels without a case on it.

My camo will get here in 7-10 days :)

Your word, not mine.

What is "next to nothing"? $1? $10? $100? You were pretty specific with your other numbers in your example.

So $20 worth of protection can equal hundreds of dollars.

And the intangible cost of using a phone covered in a fugly case and a clarity- and/or sensitivity-robbing screen protector for a year or more.

How do you protect the pixel 2xl so well? I've babied mine and kept it in tech 21 evo case with a tempered glass screen protector, and there's already dust and micro scratches on the back glass. I also clean it with a micro fiber cloth. This thing seems to scratch easily, and I've had it since late Jan, and I don't know if anyone will have a mint-condition phone in 1 or 2 years. The nexus 6p also was a dust magnet on the visor, causing very few micro scratches.

I say just use the damn thing and if it breaks replace it. That's why I always get the insurance. Drive it like you stole it baby! Lol

I actually had a discussion on Facebook about whether to keep my insurance on my naked Pixel or get a case and drop the insurance. The majority of people commenting on my list were saying get a case and drop the Insurance but I'm still torn. I just love the feel of this phone sans sans case!

I personally keep the insurance even if I have a case because anything can still happen to the device, especially with how expensive a premium handset now is.

I have both insurance and a case for my 2XL. I might never use the insurance but for it will give me peace of mind.

Very tempting but even surface wear upsets my OCD so I went with a decent slim case to keep it free of wear and tear.
