Did you guys give permission to look at your Google account activity? I trust Google but with all the mess with Facebook I am more cautious about giving up access to my data. Even to Google. What is the consensus on this issue specifically regarding this survey?

While the services like Google and Facebook use our personal information to make our experience better on these apps. The recent data breaches have made it difficult for most of the users to trust these apps. It depends on you how you want your information to be used by these companies. Both Google and Facebook now allow the users to delete the data kept by these companies. But for now, it is safe to give permission to the companies.

I disagree...as do a lot of others.

In my opinion, stored browsing cookies are partly to blame for data breaches due to the on-device stored data, if allowed per user, in the shared folders on-device that can be accessed if the permissions for "Allow all files access" setting is selected. This possibly allows any files to be accessed and potentially exploited unless encryption support is utilized on the device . However, privacy settings are becoming more available to customize with each newer OS versions and allowing better user-preferred options, yet the older OS versions still lack certain setting options for privacy and data management, which could be a factor as well. My advice is to go through every setting on your phone, tablet, or any device you use before actually creating content or downloading any app or game, creating website accounts that use a login, ect to mitigate any unwanted permissions or data availability from being misused. If something cannot be changed that you do not agree with, remove the app or game, trade in your device, or otherwise. if it's your data, take control by taking the time to manage your settings to your preferences.
