Google bans Huawei:Are you worried?

just another example how Huawei's not the only company that steals techs every company is guilty of this.

Funny how Corephotonics is owned by Samsung. Several weeks ago Apple was forced to pay Samsung around $650 million because it had agreed to buy a certain amount of displays from Samsung but due to lack of sales didn’t buy enough, despite Samsung having already made them.

I'm not experiencing that at all

I’m having a deja vu with this quote and reply >_<

Maybe it’s just me, but I could swear I’ve seen this exchange using the same words before lol.

Personally I think that the Pixels underexpose slightly much for my liking (I prefer the noticeably brighter photos shot from Galaxy phones) but they still take great photos in most lighting conditions and provide good levels of detail that the competition sometimes can’t reproduce. In most cases you won’t notice unless you put 2 pictures side by side and even then the pictures are reasonably bright.

I'm referring to black crush and losing detail.

Not if you treat the camera app as a camera, not as a phone. Put it on automatic, and it does what the developer decided. Set it manually? Or at least turn HDR+ on. I have a great shot, on a moonless, cloudy night, of a plant I couldn't even see. Even the color is the correct shade and the correct saturation. (The comparison between the plain shot and the Night Sight shot is in the Pixel 2 pictures thread, so I won't waste space by repeating it here.)

But it's not a snapshot camera. It's not supposed to be.

I hope Google improves their a line of phone with the Pixel 4a next year. As it has doubled their phone sales I’m curious to see whether they invest more resources into the 4a so it’ll have a better processor and design.

Dear Sir, Will the P30 series specifically the P30 lite lose access to the google store and other google services after this last license expires on April 1, 2020? Thanks for the reply.

The P30 Series was released prior to any ban so everything including Google Store should stay as it is.

Not quite so, I read on the internet and google explained that they got a temporary general license to cooperate with Huawei in the display and provision of google services for phones that went on sale before May 16, 2019. The last provisional license expires on April 1 for cooperation with huawei.google requested that they obtain a license to cooperate with Huawei, but there is still no response from the US government and it is not known when they will approve or deny the request. That's why I asked the question because maybe someone knows more than me. I just bought a P30 lite and if it loses access to google services I have to buy another phone.

I wouldn't make any quick decisions on this front. I'm sure we will get more answers soon, especially since April is just around the corner.

On another note, how are you liking your P30 Lite? I really wanted the P30 when it came out. I'm hoping things will calm down soon and maybe the P40 will be in my hands one day!

The P30 lite is a very good phone. Although the lite version everything works very fluidly on the android 10 beta. I found no objection to him. Phone for every praise.

Re: Huawei has immediately lost access to Android and Google

Thinking the p30 hits the sweetspot regarding price (max 500 euros) and camera performance when we're planning next phone upgrade.
But worried Google will pull android in future. What's up with this?

Nobody really knows. They keep getting extensions but how long that will continue is anyone's guess. Almost two years running my P20 Pro having no issues w/Google Services, hopefully that'll continue for a while yet cuz I'm not ready to let go.

Glad your P20 is still going strong! It's definitely hard to let go of the Huawei ecosystem.

P20 Pro has been my longest use Android to-date, and for good reason. Support for me here in Canada has been somewhat hit-n-miss but nearly 2-years w/o a single reset impresses. I'd probably own the P30 Pro if it weren't for the fact the display on it is curved, my co-worker has one and can say it definitely looks nice.

I'm in Canada too! That's definitely an impressive track record. Yeah, curved screens are a little bit of a gamble!

I have no desire to live in the Huawei ecosystem so I'll be sticking with my P30 pro till a phone with a better camera system comes out that has Google Services. I checked out some of Hauwei's Google app knockoffs and wasn't impressed.

I really enjoy taking photos with my P30 pro and if the results weren't enough for me I'd drag my camera and lenses out of the closet.

Awesome! Canada is an awesome place!

No that in itself isn't really an impressive track record as most of my experiences in using Android, in general, has been pretty stellar. Rarely have there been instances where I've seen slowdowns, bugs, quirks, requiring me to reset my devices. For the most part it's been a "set it and forget it affair" until said time we decide to sell a device.

The P20 Series is my first Huawei's ever and actually don't mind EMUI one bit. Most certainly am a big fan of their shooters that is for sure which is one of the big reasons we aren't willing to let go quite yet. Battery longevity has been some of the best I've used too. Not looking good that I'll own another Huawei phone so might as well enjoy it while we can.
