I just wanted to throw a poll up here and see what everyone is using.

Based on my experience using both: the only thing Kindle has over Google books for me is the ability to read in landscape mode. No, before I buy any books I'm going to give it sometime to see if Google Books starts pushing out more updates and what not. But, I like to lean towards google. However, doing so I'm afraid of giving google my money because of no customer support; on the other hand, I'm afraid of giving Amazon my CC number as my account has been hacked in the recent past.

Who's using what? Why are you using what are you using? And since I couldn't find anything in my lax search: who has more books?

Kindle is nice to know you can actually get a kindle and use those books on there. As other ebook readers don't seem to be using eink I don't see a plus in getting them over Google Books.

I use Kindle on the basis that its able to be used on Multiple platforms. If I ever go to wp7 or webos i know that i can use kindle. Google Books only works on ios and android. Amazon also has a more extensive library of books.

You don't need to give Amazon your CC number. You can fill your Amazon Gift Card balance and purchase that way. I always pounce on the $20 giftcards for $10 specials they have from time to time.

Nook also has eInk readers. I've yet to encounter a Nook own who wasn't very happy with their device.

I use Kindle myself. Mainly because I own a Kindle device and prefer to read from an eInk display which Google doesn't have. I also like that Kindle syncs reading progress to each device should I find myself reading from my smartphone, laptop/pc, etc.. I also find perusing and shopping for books on Amazon to be better than the alternatives.

Hmm. Didn't know they had Eink. I think I'm gonna go back to kindle. I mole the sepia background and landscape. And as you said it is easier to search through the amazon store.

Good tip on the gift car. Why don't they add PayPal to their site?

+1 for Kindle. I have a Kindle, plus I have the Kindle app on my SGS, BlackBerry, and PC. No matter what device I use, I always have access to my ebooks.

Access to the books on any platform and the MAJOR catch is the whispersync functionality. It's fantastic being able to pick up where you left off on any device at any time.

Now if we could get that to work with non-amazon purchased books we would have a winner. I used to use aldikio, but when I got the tablet, keeping synced between it and my phone for just 1 book was a paiin. With kindle app I just use dropbox to manualy copy the mbp file for the book between the 2. ( THAT is the file that contains book arks and current position etc)

I wish someone would write a script that could do that for me!

Ahhh, I never ran into that scenario, that would definitely be annoying for sure.

I've used all three and I don't like google books because it has the tendency to stay running in the background, even if I don't open it after reboot. The other two doesn't run in the background.

So now I'm up in the air again. Bringing this back.

I've been using kindle because I can side load. I haven't purchased from them yet. However, now that Google has an official Eink Reader coming out. I'm in the air of where I should buy from again, lol.

Who is looking forward to the Google Official Ereader?

I LOVE the way google books page flip but the content's more expensive than Kindle. If I could read my kindle books in google books app, I would.

Since I have a Kindle I use the Kindle application. Love that I can download a few books to my phone and read on my phone.

I like the new books section in the Google market app. Books app now takes you there too. So hard to choose where to put the money. Lol.

I love Nook. Huge selection from B&N, I can read on my phone or tablet and synch them (although not always seamlessly). And I can read magazines on my Xoom.
