I didnt care for Google Currents as every time it syncs and updates the articles, it's cached so decreases memory.

Everyone's needs are different. I like it since I grab my Fire when leaving the house for things like holiday shopping with my wife.
I like reading my articles on the larger screen. Now as I walk around as my wife's clothes rack I watched my downloaded Amazon content and catch up with my favorite sites on the Fire. Makes being the cart pusher a bit more tolerable for me
