This was started in another thread but it got shut down fast because the name calling started fast and furious. It was unfortunate because I was curious to see what the responses would be. So I'll try again.
One thing that dissuades me from using Android is because it is Google. To me Google = data collection. If you use FREE Google services, you will PAY with your privacy. The ONLY reason Android is FREE and open source, is so that it can populate itself through the masses and collect endless quantities of user data beyond anyone's dreams. So the question in the other thread was, how do I stop Google from collecting my data? The answer was basically to not use Google apps - like search etc. But correct me if I'm wrong (I'd like to know this, so this is why I'm asking), do ALL Android phones send user data to Google in some shape or form? Can you ever escape the prying eyes of the big Google brother?
