Google dismisses rumors of Nexus demise

Just go to Cricket Wireless since it is a No Contract with a bring your own Phone plan that is 100% owned and operated by AT&T. https://www.cricketwireless.com/shop/byod.html

Cricket is AT&T cell Towers without the annual contract.

On Cricket, LTE speeds are capped at 8 Mbps; HSPA at 4 Mbps.

Their prices are also higher; $50 a month and you only get 2.5GB of data. StraightTalk is 3GB and $45 a month.

StraightTalk also offers BYOD and operates on AT&T's network. There are no contracts and no activation fees.

StraightTalk is the better deal for sure, unless you need a family plan. But if you do, you may as well go with AT&T.

Aren't ST's speeds also capped?

Cricket is $45 if you sign up for autopay.

I don't think StraightTalk's speeds are capped. I've seen speed tests on StraightTalk and they have been just as fast as AT&T.

Even with Autopay, StraightTalk is still the better deal. More data at faster speeds.
