I think this is true.As above, you can make files available offline. However there is no way to export them to your phone so other apps can access them.
For other non-document files (or document files, for that matter), install a file explorer app, like the free ES File Explorer, that gives you access to Google Drive and other cloud storage services. You can then download whatever files you please and save them to the folder of your choice.
Whoa, did not know that was an option, awesome!
Yep. When you 'pin' files in the Google Drive app, it caches a local copy of the file you specified. Using a file explorer, you can copy that file to a separate folder and go from there.
I also read a post above that seemed to indicate ES Explorer could access google drive and get a filecan someone tell me how to do that with ES File explorer? I have had no luck accessing my epubs. Cool Reader does not seem to be able to open them.
After you open ES Explorer, you will probably see "Local" on the top left. Press it then choose Net. Then click menu (overflow menu, three dots), then new. From there you can connect to Google Drive (or gdrive as ES Explorer calls it).
In ES File Explorer, go to Menu (3 vertical dots, lower right) > More > Help Center > Help.I wish there was good faq somewhere on how to get all the use out of ES file Explorer.
Notice that was set in mine and I didn't set it to encrypt so it must be the default.just an FYI, in google drive settings there is an option called encrypt files and thats the reason why many file manager or apps cant see the drive files

Wonder if it is needed or is it better to uncheck it?
