I have 3 files spinning forever on Google Drive. Others are fine and I have backups of all 3.

Is there a way to fix it?

Thanks!

Also try clearing the app cache for Google Drive.
It's funny... my Google Drive is doing it again when I load an Excel file from Samsung My Files app then save as then Google Drive then when drive opens save.

Neither force close nor clear cache nor both work.

I fixed this once before but now I can't remember how I did it.

The files do upload successfully using this method. I can find and use them on the computer. If in the app I click on Home instead of Files the upload is there too but it never stops spinning in Files.

The only thing that seems to fix it is uninstalling then reinstalling Google Drive Android app OR find the file in the browser version of Google Drive and delete it.

Those choices
are not acceptable.

Did you also try clearing the app data for Google Drive in Settings>Apps? Since it syncs with the cloud, you won't lose any information.

No, but I don't want to have to clear app data every time I save an open excel file to Drive. Uninstalling and reinstalling does that. I've saved to Drive for many years this way. It is frustrating to have this happen every time I save to Drive. I can upload directly to Drive but go on auto pilot and save to Drive only to get the endless animation.

Thanks for your suggestion though!

Uninstalling an app doesn't necessarily clear the app data, because that data may be restored via Google Backup when you reinstall it. It's worth trying to clear the app data at least once, in case there's something wonky in there. Doing it once might be enough.

Yep -- would also Force Stop Google Drive before reopening it, then give it a few seconds to re-sync.

BYW, Tapatalk no longer works nor does the old AC forums app. I also cannot share a link from Chrome to the Home Screen. How do you easily access ACF from Android phone?

Tapatalk has been broken for a while. There are a lot of threads in the Site Feedback/Android Central Apps forum here about it. They're working on it, but it's not clear when it'll be fixed. In the meantime, I find that the forum website works pretty well on Chrome (much better than the old forum did, anyway).
