Google Drive

For some reason my Google drive app on my phone isn't syncing. If I go to google drive from the file explorer all the files that I have deleted are gone and all the new files are there, but when I go to the drive straight from the app it still has the old files and the new files are not there. Is there another way to refresh or sync so that my new files will show up in the app ? Even when I go to the drive from the browser or my computer , all my updated files are there.
