Google Hangouts and Keyboard update

And the keyboard still inserts apostrophes

It does for certain words, yes. But if I type "its" or "youre" within a sentence, the three suggestions do not include "it's" or "you're". However, if I type "itss" or "youree" then "it's" and "you're" are suggested. Typing things like "youve" will suggest "you've", as it always did.

Same with "thats" (<--see) and "thats" isnt (<--again) even a word! I can understand "its" as it is a word, but I rarely use "its" mainly "it's."

It's is popping up correctly on mine. It's just to the left as a suggestion which you have to click.

This is total crap. I can't believe how terrible this updated keyboard is. It doesn't type apostrophes in most words as mentioned above. Awful!

I thought apps on the playstore update all at once, not in waves... And the keyboard still inserts apostrophes

Yes they do but Google is rolling out updates for the Hangouts app, I'm guessing not to overload servers.

I really like the new keyboard. Using hangouts for SMS is cool too. I like that all of my messaging now is in the same place with video chat. It is really convenient. Like anything else, it takes some getting used to.

Looks like the version that people are getting when updating thru the Play Store is not the same version that is extracted from the N5. I'm installed an apk that was extracted from the N5 and it is a newer version than what shows in the Play Store.

Got the updated keyboard, but still no Hangouts 2.0 for my N4. I've gotten 2 updates to Hangouts on my 2013 N7 (the original 2.0 one and another one just yesterday). Boy, this sure seems like a slow roll-out for us N4 owners........

I've wondered how Google roles out the updates. I still don't have the update of either app and is been almost 2 weeks.

I had the exact same scenario. I am kinda anxious for the hangouts updates... but not anxious enough to side load it ;)

I too got update 3 on my nexus 7 last nite and low and behold I just got Hangouts 2.0 on my N4!!! Hang in there it's coming!!

Like the new Hangouts with SMS.

Only complaint I have it swipe to archive. I keep doing it accidently .

Believe it or not thats one of the reasons why I even bought nexus 4 because of the blue color. I think it looks really nice.

Still on Android 4.3 but I did just get the new Hangouts this morning! Figured I should try out the SMS functioning. Do I need to/can I disable the default messaging app? Because I just sent a MMS via Hangouts and I see it appeared in the messaging app as well.

I got Hangouts 2.0 for my N4. One issue I have are hyperlinks. I get Twitter updates and sometimes they have links in them. However the link is connected with the tweet so the link is invalid. It never did this in the regular messaging app. It would separate link from the text or another link.
