Google login gone on new phone

[Android Central Question]

I just gave my daughter my old S8+ as I got an S10+.. she tried to login to pokemon go, she used Google to sign up. We have found that pokemon go doesn't have the Google login option on the S8+ so she can't log in to the game.
Is there a way to remedy this please? She doesn't want to lose her progress.
