Google maps app

Just wondering if anyone else has issues with the google maps app on their infuse. About every second or third time I open and try to use it freezes up and force closes. I get the vibration pattern then my phone eventually reboots. I have this issue every once in a while with other apps, but none as frequently as the maps app.

I've used Navigation a few times and had no problems.

I have not had any problems at all do you have the latest google maps mine has updated twice since I've got the phone and google navigation works as good my tomtom

Yes I update all my apps daily so I do have current version.

Just wanted to give this post another shot to see if any new infuse owners have any issues with google maps? As long as I keep maps at the version the phone came with, version 4.5.0, it works just fine. But if I update to any of the newer versions released since then maps becomes un usable. It will constantly freeze up, force close, and reboot phone. Once I uninstall the update maps will work fine. Anyone else having similar issues? I am on rooted stock rom.

Never saw those issues when I was stock, which ended a couple days ago. Why don't you root so you can uninstall it via Titanium Backup (requires root). Then install fresh from Market. with root, you have full command of your phone

Would un installing stock and installing from market be any different than updating stock to latest version? I'm already rooted just use for TB and freezing a few Apps though.

it should, usually it clears whatever the update is hosing it. a fresh full install of updated software should alleviate it. let me know how it goes for you. I have a feeling is why a lot of unrooted people have unresolved issues. they don't have complete control of their phone.

I have the same problem. I am not rooted, but every 2nd or 3rd time I use Google Maps, the phone locks up. Using the escape or home key will cause the vibration pattern, after a bit, but it does not unfreeze.

Thank you - I tried that and the app worked once, then locked up again. This time it just shut down and rebooted the phone.

So far so good after deleting the cache. I did that before seeing the above post, but nice to know that is what the issue was.

Never mind I spoke to soon. I decided to test maps again and my phone is currently in the process of re booting it self after the fc.
