I use Firefox and decided to use Google Maps and I accidentally hit the button to not use my location. Now I can't get Google to ask me for my permission again. I did some searching and found Google Maps for mobile in which it said "To use the My Location feature, you need to opt in to My Location". It then goes on to say that I might have opted out, but that I can clear my location settings to receive the prompt again and allow Maps to access my location, by doing the following:
For Browser (Android):
1. Go to Menu>More>Settings.
2. In Settings, go to Website>Settings>Google Maps Mini>Clear location settings
I am assuming where it says to Go to Menu, it is referring to the Menu button at the bottom of the phone (the 3 stacked horizontal lines). However, the only things in my menu are
New Tab
New Private Tab
Share
Find in Page
Request Desktop Site
Tools
Settings
But under Settings here, I have:
Sync
Customize
Display
Privacy
Mozilla
Developer Tools
(under Tools, I only have:
Save as PDF
Downloads
Add-ons
Apps
New Guest Session)
Since I could not find "Website>Settings>Google Maps Mini>Clear location settings", I looked farther down on the Google instruction page, and found
For Android devices:
1. Go to Menu>Settings>Location & Security.
2. Make sure Use Wireless networks is checked.
Again, I only have the above listed items under Menu>Settings. I do not have "Location and Security" listed. And "Use wireless networks" is not available either.
For the life of me, I can't figure out how to opt in to "Opt in for My Location" again.
Can anyone please shed some light on this?
Thanks in advance for any help whatsoever.
Marc.
(the other two choices for resetting location settings are For Safari (iOS) and Apple devices, which do not apply)
