Is there a way to drop location pins on Google Maps, like you can on IPad?

I'm pretty sure you'd have to use Latitude or something like it. I don't know of a way to use pins in Maps.

You can star locations

If "pins" is just like saving a specific spot on the map than yes you can. You can touch the point on the map that you want to save it will then show an address of some sort touch it and then in the right corner will be a little star touch the star it will turn gold. Now when you go back to the main map the star will be on it. Also then if you go to the map at any future point you can slect moer "starred places" it will show a list of all places you starred and same thing for the Navigation.
