NOTE: Market app auto-updates can brick or cause FCs. In My Apps, UNcheck auto-update in each app. Update alerts will appear in Notification panel. Update when convenient. X can dl multiple updates at once. Good idea to off/on after updates or do battery pull so they settle in.

GOOGLE MAPS 5.0

Supposedly renders maps in 3d, anyone seen this yet on their X?

I cant seem to get it to work.

It only works in major metro areas as far as I've seen. I worked in Downtown Chicago and Detroit for me, but not in my neighborhood 15 miles north of Downtown Detroit. I believe the new version of maps works off of vector graphics. They probably haven't developed the building graphics for areas outside of downtown for major cities (not that Detroit is much of a major city anymore).

Other people are correct about having to be in maps, not satellite, view and run 2 fingers down the map in parallel simultaneously to angle the map. Otherwise you'd be looking straight down on top of a building so there's be no elevation view.

All three of our dx's have random freezes on google maps. Most of the time we are on the inacurate lattitude. Anyone who has used sprint family locater 5$ a month for 5 phones knows how nice and accurate and up to date a locater can be.
