i open google maps the gps on my phone takes forever to find me its very slow is it google or my phone any tips...

Had the same problem when I first got the phone - the map would also not orient properly (north facing up regardless of the setting). Had to uninstall the app a couple of times and re-installed it making sure to restart the phone after the first install and the update to the app from Market place...and then it finally started working right.
