I've been playing with both lately but one thing i do notice it seems the google is much quicker to update if your in an area where you going to make a lot of turns quickly then google is much better. Sprint sometimes im already so close to the turn i dont hear it in time and have to turn around google seems to update and let you know much quicker

I really like the Google service for maps but for nav its got to be Sprints nav for me.

Google nav is excellent - you can get directions to places either with an automobile, on foot, or on a bike! Also, I've found Google Nav is lock-on and find routes much faster. I consider Sprint Nav bloat, along with all the other Sprint apps -- so it's usually removed immediately. :P

After using Sprint Nav for years, its done its job well and took me to my destination. It always ran better on my BB than on android, but its always been a tad slow. It takes forever to get a gps signal, to reroute, and runs slow in general.

Now that my Hero is at its 2.1 stage, Ive been using Google Nav exclusively. I like the features, its fast, and it reroutes almost instantly if you take a different turn than directed. The street view of your destination at the end is a nice touch along with the darkened night view.

Google also can let you touch any point on the map and itll give you directions to it, something Sprint cant do. It just needs to be polished a bit more and itll become the king of navigation.

To me, the Google Nav girl is easier on the ears and pronounces streets better than the Sprint girl.

Google Nav has more features and the best part will allow you to make a phone call while using it because it utilizes only satellites to guide you. Sprint Nav is a tiny bit more accurate at times, but I don't like having my EVDO locked up with it in case I need to make a phone call or want to listen to Slacker or Pandora while I drive. Google Nav will only get better and eventually will force all cell carriers to provide their Nav solutions for free or not at all.

Google Nav is not Google Maps!

I'm still (stuck) on the Pre, but I've used both on that platform and Sprint Nav was far better than Goggle Maps. Hopefully the Google Maps experience on the EVO will be better.

Please don't comment if you haven't tried both apps. All you are doing is misinforming users that need the correct information. Thanks.

If sprint nav is still the same as it was when I had my Pre then it sucks compared to Google Nav plain and simple. Seems like there are a bunch of Pre people voting who are only familiar with the watered down version of Google Maps that come on the Pre. Google Nav on Android 2.x is a different beast altogether. It's much better and quicker to navigate. I just hit the navigate or maps icon, speak the address and voila. Sprint Nav was also pretty inaccurate and slow. Some neighborhoods weren't even on the map. It's been a while so maybe Telenav have improved but I can't see myself using that instead. Not to mention the great featues like night mode, street view and the fact that Google Nav zooms in automatically for the last couple blocks (a simple but very convenient feature). I also can't remember Sprint Nav having highway / toll avoidance?

I use Sprint nav because googles mapping data has far too many errors and mistakes i it. Sprint nav uses Teleatlas maps, which are generally very good. Googles maps are crap with tons of mistakes in them.

The Google Nav voice is terrible. Sprint's voice is actually nice to listen too. Sprint Nav doesn't silence music you're playing when it speaks directions. It just kinda' talks with/over it. Google Nav does silence the music.

I've only used Sprint Nav and NO complaints.

Better than my in dash navigation from my pioneer headunit. (which tapped into my VSS wire in my car)

I used Sprint Nav this past Sunday for a long trip. I made about three calls while using it. Sprint Nav didn't stop working during those calls. Kinda' confused...

I've also used Pandora while using Sprint Nav (even though Sprint Nav doesn't silence music, just talks with/over it).

Yeah once Sprint nav loads up the route, the only time it pings the internet is to get traffic updates.

Sprint Tele Nav is by far my preferred GPS method.

Faster to do what I want, which is the entire point of using it in car on the go.

(That and it has good TTS with great traffic support here in Phoenix)
