I am hoping Samsung will have a fix for this in 2.2 or least someone will fix it in the custom ROM.
I've tried a few things, like all those TEMP1 - TEMP4 settings as well as the MIDI setting in the *#28346#>situation menu, nada.Ran all the way to MD and back this weekend with it in the cradle, nav vol cranked to max. Heard it just fine (although no radio playing, I was streaming pandora which pauses for nav directions) However, I'm assuming that somewhere in those menus egg_head is tooling around in is a setting for the nav/media/music whatever volume. The speaker is a fixed output hw wise, so I would venture to guess that bumping up the max on the last step would increase the volume.
I found navigator through the aux input in my stereo is fine. However I noticed the other day with music playing and navigator running I couldn't answer phone calls. The music would dim nicely for the nav directions and then start back up just like its supposed to. If I got a call it would show up, but I couldn't answer with the audio cable plugged in. I tried unplugging the audio cable and it hung up my phone call instantly. Is this a known issue?
Went and tested that fix for the GPS volume really quickly last night, but was quickly irritated by the very loud system clicks.
As the system sound effects are all based on step7, I ended up lowering that value down to 65 and setting step6 to 100.
I have no idea what that does to the Nav volume, though. It doesn't get quieter at max setting or anything, but the system sounds are no longer making me cringe every time I click an icon, either.
Anyone know how that works?

Oh wow...you are right. I didn't notice it. I don't use navigate so much that it's a hardship for me to go in and turn it back down, but I see the complaint.
I'm only gonna use it a handful of times a year, so no biggie. Just wondered if there was a fix besides turning the clicks off..
