Google Nexus 4 - Alarm not working after Kitkat update while on Qi Charger

Been using my Nexus 4 with an Energizer Qi charger for almost a year now without a problem. Normally I put my phone on the wireless charger before I go to bed and my alarm works every time without fail.

After my Kitkat OTA update the alarm no longer goes off after the phone has been on the charger for a while. When I looked at the phone the alarm time shown on the lock screen was from the previous day.

I have rebooted and had this happen 2 days in a row. I have confirmed that the alarm functions when not connected to a charger and on both wired and wireless charger. It only happens when it is left on the wireless charger overnight.

Any thought or insights greatly appreciated.

Get volume control+ from the play store and check the alarm volume after you lay it on the charger. I had a similar issue.
