Google Nexus 6 on T-Mobile

Re: T-mobile has them on the floor

A few SF Bay area Tmobile stores have display units, but none for sale until the 19th.

Yeah .....this store had a sign saying they are selling the nexus 6 note 4 and edge ..they are quite clueless though and if I had stayed with t-mobile I would of went to a different store

Re: T-mobile has them on the floor

Omg I'm on my way to an t-mobile store now!!

Thanks... Called the one that was suppose hold one for me and they did have a demo out... Sucked they had that darn security anchor attached to the back of it.... But even with that thing attached and me having to use my left hand to hold the freaking retractable cord from pulling the phone back down to the display rack it was very nice.... It's big no doubt.. I put it up next to my Nexus 5..... But I could easily swipe to type and reach top to bottom of the phone while handling it one handed.... if you removed that security anchor it would be even easier to handle.. Reminded me of the Moto X too.... Was hard to completely tell but it didn't feel too heavy or too thick... Again that security anchor... I offered to let the lady hold my wallet with ID and credit cards if she could remove it and she said no..... UGH!!!!

beautiful screen... and I set my Nexus 5 down next to it and did a quick test of clicking apps on my Kit Kat Nexus 5 and the Lollipop Nexus 6 and with Youtube, Play Store, Maps and gmail all opened so quick I couldn't actually tell which was faster to open.... That Ars Tech video it was noticeably slower than the KitKat Nexus 5..... Would have to test it more when I have it loaded with all that I have loaded on my phone... but now I am even more excited about getting one.....

Re: T-mobile has them on the floor

Is it slippery, or could you get a decent grip..

For me it was kind of hard to tell because of the security anchor... The back didn't feel slippery but having to maneuver my hand around the anchor in the middle of the device threw off the balance and grip...

Re: T-mobile has them on the floor

I called 3 stores and found one that had a demo. I walked over there so fast I thought I was going to pull a hami... Coming from the Note 2, the Nexus didn't feel big at all. Barely wider, maybe a half inch taller, and thinner. I have big hands, and handle my note 2 one handed all the time, and the Nexus was no problem for me.

What I liked: felt thin and light. Screen is huge. Camera with HDR+ off is very fast to open from home screen, and to take pictures. After taking a shot, you can pull the pic over instantly and look at it. The Note 4 has a 2-3 second delay when you go to the gallery to look at the pic. With HDR on, the Nexus has about a one second pause after taking it, and another 2-3 seconds to look at it the first time for processing. Note 4 is faster with HDR on. Indoor picture quality was definitely better on the Note. Better lighting, better color, and more detail.

The screen is definitely better on the Note 4. It looks brighter, sharper, and more vibrant. Also, as fast as the Nexus was doing everything, the one time is was REALLY slow is when I opened the gallery from the home screen after I had taken like 20 pictures. It took at least 5 seconds to show the thumb nails in the little boxes of all the pics. I couldn't believe the lag. Once it loaded all the pics, it was fast again. Hopefully a soft ware bug Google will fix.

I ordered a nexus for myself and my son, but now I'm torn. The lags in touchwiz are more consistent, but small, and the rest is so good. I just wanted a change from the Note series after 2 years....

T-mobile has them on the floor

Was the screen yellow? The screen is gonna make or break it for me. If it's extremely dim and warm I'll pass. I got rid of the LG G pad gPE for that very reason.

Wasn't yellow.. It was pretty bright from what I saw in the store... but the lighting in a Mall T-Mobile store are not exactly flattering to start with... They kind of had it sitting by itself.. Didn't even have a tag on it and no other phones close enough to set them side by side and of course it was anchored down...

I thought the screen looked amazing.... But that is open for interpretation...... Your opinion may differ from mine.....

Re: T-mobile has them on the floor

Is the brightness that bad?

For my taste and comparing it to my Nexus 5 the brightness was similar.... I couldn't compare it to a Note 3/4 or LG G3.... The T-Mobile store I was in they literally had it on it's own little stand in the back corner of the store.... Only thing I could put up next to it was my Nexus 5 and the brightness was very similar to my eye.... Didn't look any more or less bright....

On another note they said they've gotten 30+ phone calls or walk ins per day over the last couple weeks asking about it.... That is crazy for something that isn't even advertised and they didn't even hold an "Event" to announce it...

I think the nits was around 250 range while the note 4 was around high 300 or low 400 range? You can definitely tell the difference between the note 4 and nexus 6 should you bring it outside a lot but not enough to change your mind if it isn't a huge deal to see outside

Re: T-mobile has them on the floor

The white is a bit grey, not yellow. On full brightness, it was at least as bright as my Note 2, which I don't have problems with in the sun, so I think the Nexus will be fine in that regard.

You ordered from the T-mobile store?

It should be ...I felt it was on the level of the s4, note 3 and note 2 as terms of brightness which is pretty ok in sunlight. Note 4 is the brightest amoled screen to date but the nexus 6 is adequate

Re: T-mobile has them on the floor

If it's as good as the note 3, that's good enough for me. I don't really use my phone in the sun. I've read several reviews that said it was pretty bright.

What about the speakers, were they loud?

Re: T-mobile has them on the floor

I am going tomorrow by tmobile, sprint and att to see if I can find one to play or buy and taking my One Plus One and Note 3 to compare against. Will report back.

Re: T-mobile has them on the floor

No. I ordered from Motorola.

The speakers seemed pretty loud. The store was packed and noisy, and I could hear it well when I played music off You Tube. I didn't compare it to my Note 2 so I can't give you good feedback there.

Re: T-mobile has them on the floor

Can someone else try taking a bunch of pictures tomorrow using the Nexus, then go to home screen, then open the gallery and see how long it takes for all the thumb nails to appear? I am hoping the huge lag I saw today was a fluke....
