Google Nexus 6 on T-Mobile

Buying Nexus 6 at FULL Price at T Mobile

Hello,

I am thinking of buying the phone full price at T Mobile as I can not wait for the Google Play Store inventory to come up as available.

My question is if i can just buy it without opening an account, and if the phone is already unlocked when it's bought full price.

Thanks.

It is unlocked but you might need to get a plan for a month

You have to get a plan for the phone. Pay for it outright so you don't have to go through the EIP stuff with them. Get the plan but as soon as you get the phone, call T-Mobile to cancel the plan. They can't force you to return the phone.

Re: Question for those who purchased online from T-Mobile

Did your Nexus 6 include a new Nano SIM card with your device? I'm still waiting for my device to arrive and I need to figure out if I might have to visit my local T-Mobile store to get a Nano SIM for it since I'm coming from a N5.

Thanks!

Re: My First Day Impressions

How does the OPO compare with the Nexus 6. I am still quite pleased with my OPO so find myself much less willing to try hard to get a Nexus 6 i.e. get on the websites on Wednesdays etc.

The N6 is slightly larger and also slightly more cumbersome to hold and navigate. Both well built phones, no question. Difference is obviously in the software, which is where I'm having my problem. I love the N6 and the OPO but am having a problem deciding which to use full time. The N6 is certainly more stable and has better support but the OPO allows so much more customization.

But I digress. They're both great phones. N6 is just slightly larger and will take a little getting used to using. But going from an OPO to an N6 won't be that much difference in size. I do like the back of the OPO better; it's easier to grip. The N6 is a little slippery. The screen is absolutely gorgeous! Much more vibrant than the OPO. The N6 is also a little faster loading apps and browsing the web.

I hope that helps! Feel free to reach out with any specific questions.

Re: Got A Nexus at Tmobile

I checked out the Nexus 6 in the T-Mobile store today. The phone is beautiful. I like the screen. The phone seemed very snappy. I think that any Android fan would be happy with it.

Note in my house!

Yes. Or you can get someone that you know on t mobile to buy it for you. I think the lowest amount for the SIM and plan are like $50 or $60...

Re: My First Day Impressions

Thanks for the nice comparison on the OPO. That is what I am currently using and having a heck of a time deciding if I want to try the N6. I love my OPO, but the Nexus has me curious.

Re: Question for those who purchased online from T-Mobile

I'm starting to wonder if T-Mobile has any in inventory in warehouse...I ordered mine at 1AM Pacific time, did NBD shipping, got shipment notification and everything...but now they are saying it was only a preorder and it's on backorder and it won't be shipping for like 2 weeks. WHAT GIVES?!?

Re: Question for those who purchased online from T-Mobile

Yeah it should come with a Sim card.

Re: Got A Nexus at Tmobile

I hate how they try to tell you the accessories are "free" when you are just financing it. they try to get me to buy 3 of their over priced cases and screen protectors. I just kept telling them no. they insisted it's free and comes with the phone. funny thing is the monthly payment went down after the rep took the free accessories off. the couple times I been to the store, that's all I hear them telling customers.

That's pretty poor.

After 2 hours, I will never go back to a 5 inch phone.

Hilarious.. I had my Nexus 5 on the charger and I went to move it and it said the 5.0 update was ready to install... so after it was done updating I went to play with it to see how it felt on the 5 and I was like OMG I can't do this.... and powered it off and back to the Nexus 6... Now I just need to put the 5 on Swappa and move it....

It was weird yesterday. My N5 and Nexus 10 both got the 5.0 update yesterday. I have been playing with it and on the tablet, the notifications take some getting used to. But it works well.

I went ahead and did the payment plan on T Mobile while I wait for Motorola to refund my money. My first month will only be $50 because the store manager gave me $10 off the first month to try out the 3GB plan. But as soon as I get my refund I will just pay the phone off. And then either stay with them or move to a prepaid plan. I traded in my old Verizon Moto Droid X to get my ATT ETF paid for. Now I will be contract free and able to roam the cellular world with my unlocked Nexus like it should be with all phones.

I ordered mine the other night T-Mobile began to accept orders. I chose Next Day delivery. I actually received mine moments later after I posted my comment! I can confirm that the Nexus 6 I ordered online from T-Mobile came with its SIM card. The whole transfer process was seamless!

Re: Question for those who purchased online from T-Mobile

What time did you order yours? I ordered mine at 1:00AM Pacific time and they are saying mine is on back order. Did you order before or after that time?

Re: Question for those who purchased online from T-Mobile

I stayed up till 2:00 AM--12 Midnight Pacific time---on 11/19 and was unable to order. All I saw was "Coming Soon." I woke up later that day and placed an order for the 64 GB at about 5:20 AM Pacific time, as a new TMO customer. Just got my tracking # today. I selected Overnight shipping, so I am hoping to have it for the weekend!!!

It would be a crappy thing to do, but are you a new customer or an existing one and did you select overnight shipping?

I wonder if it helped that I was a new customer porting over a line from Big Red.

Ordered Wednesday and should have by Friday.
