Re: My First Day Impressions
Less than 24 hours is not enough time to give a definitive review, but I can comment on a few things I've noticed:
-The touch screen response on this phone is excellent. Typing on the keyboard, scrolling through apps..its all extremely fluid. That's a huge advantage that Nexus devices seen to have over their skinned brethren.
-Bluetooth has been excellent. It's paired to both my car and Fitbit extremely quick.
-Way too much has been made of this screen. I still have my Note 4 and you can tell the difference in viewing angles and max brightness, but this is a solid display. If you're coming from any other phone, I can't see how you'd notice anything wrong with it. Even still, it's more than adequate for me. Verdict is still out on how efficient it is and how that affects battery life, though. That's my only concern.
-This may be due to the updated build my device got on start up, but I'm not seeing the intermittent lag some of these reviewers are discussing. This phone is lightning quick and outside of an iPhone 6, it's the fastest device out there right now.
-I'm not sold on the power button placement. It causes me to readjust my grip every time. This phone could definitely use knock/tap to wake. That would make a huge difference and Lollipop is capable of it.
-I've said this earlier, but I may have been wrong about the camera. It's still not as fast as an iPhone 6 or Note 4 and the quality lags behind them in some cases, but HDR+ can make a big difference if you've got time to line up the shot. Also having the ability to manually set the exposure is helpful.
-It's early so this is grain of salt territory, but I haven't been overly impressed with the battery so far. A few charge cycles in and hopefully it changes.
