Google Nexus 6 on Verizon

I'm using an At&t N6 on Verizon service right now, no issues at all. I wouldn't wait till Verizon gets it.

I agree, but I'm surprised because I thought the AT&T version was locked to AT&T.

Did you buy yours at full retail or subsidized?

Here's how I did it, I posted it here.

Thanks for sharing that. Also didn't realize that the Verizon Note 4 is fully compatible with AT&T. I thought it would be limited to HSPA+.

Edit: I just checked and it looks like the AT&T and Verizon versions have different bands and are only partially compatible. Still, if LTE isn't a big deal, it shouldn't matter.

It's also cool because she was willing to jump through a few hoops to get it unlocked for you. She must have really wanted the Note 4.

It's cool when both parties can make a deal and both leave feeling good.

Re: Still can't use the nexus 6 on VZW

Having read numerous forum posts about the difficulty in getting a N6 to work on Verizon I knew I was in for a battle. However, it turned out to be easier that I thought.

First, a little backstory. I am a current Verizon customer using a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (which uses a micro SIM).

I bought my N6 from the Motorola website on 12/11. I immediately called Verizon and told them that I bought an iPhone 6 from the Apple website and that I needed a nano SIM. They said no problem and shipped me one free of charge.

The next week my nano SIM arrived and my N6 the day after. I put the nano SIM in my N6 and predictably it did not work. I then took it to an official Verizon store where two agents made multiple phone calls and tried for 45 minutes to get it to work. They finally gave up and told me, "...sorry, but this phone is not going to work on the Verizon network, you should return it and ask for your money back..." Uh huh, right. Thanks V-guys.

When I got home I called Verizon again and this time I told the rep I had an iPhone 6 that I was trying to get activated. The rep was hopelessly clueless and again, predictably, they could not get it to work.

Finally I insisted that I needed to talk to someone in tech support. She relented and cold transferred me.

Bob in tech support answered the phone. I told Bob the truth, that I had bought a N6 from the Motorola website, that I had a new Verizon nano SIM. Bob said, "...no problem, I know just what to do..." I read some numbers to Bob, I restarted my phone a couple of times, and BAM! it worked. Voice, text, data, everything. It's been about 10 days now and my N6 has been working perfectly on the Verizon network.

If you ever need to talk to someone in tech support at Verizon, particularly about your new N6, I sure hope you get Bob.

Oh yeah, and no Verizon bloatware to be found on my phone (yet).

Bought a N6 on eBay
Called Verizon
Asked for a Nano sim
Shipped one to me
Inserted sim
Turned phone on
Connected and working since
Works great although not recognized by Verizon.

Bought a T-Mobile N6 on eBay. I got sick of adding one to the cart only to find an empty cart at checkout.

Called Verizon CS to get a nano SIM. They wouldn't send me one out after 3 calls. They told me i needed to bring the phone i needed it for to a store.

Didn't have the N6 yet, not that I would have taken it to a store anyway, so I bought a beat up Moto X 2014 to take to the store for my nano SIM.

Popped the active nano SIM into the N6, turned it on and ran setup. During setup it only took 30 seconds for it to identify Verizon as the carrier.

Went into settings and switched wireless network to LTE

Done.

How did you ask Verizon? Did you tell them out was for a nexus 6?

Does 3g work in addition to LTE?
Just curious.

LTE works fine on my n6 with Verizon. I don't know if hers is on LTE or not but she did text me saying her data is working fine after I showed her where to change APN settings.

Yea she's cool, and really wanted that note 4 lol. Told me to keep her number in case I ran across any other good deals.

Re: Still can't use the nexus 6 on VZW

Last week I drove from Reno to Colorado and back. There were a few areas with 3G along the way. Voice data text tethering all worked.

Well I pulled the trigger on the Note 4 today for $149 at the Verizon store. I really wanted the Nexus 6 but this has gotten to be beyond ridiculous at this point. Disappointed in Verizon ' s rollout of the Nexus 6 :-(

I'm gonna be doing the same in the very near future. Verizon was lazy about this, no info, and the Note has a far better camera anyway. Sucks b/c I really don't want TW but whatever, it's a premium device w/ the S Pen anyway. Plus my buddy has a N6 and all pictures he takes w/ a flash in low light situations gives people shiny eyes. Not a fan at all.

Someone help me understand.
1 I still say Verizon doesn't support the N6. If they did you would be able to call them and say I have an N6 here is my IMEI and it would work.
2 I am being told that Verizon has the IMEI for the Nexus 6 line. If they didn't the phones wouldn't work. If that were true why does everyone have to get an IMEI off of a demo phone.

Can anyone give me a brief lesson on Cdma
Thanks

How many of you successfully have activated a TMobile Nexus 6 on Verizon? I am looking at purchasing one off Craigslist. Like I mentioned in a previous post I own a Verizon Moto X 2014 they each take the same sim cards. Would I just be able to put my sim card in the Nexus 6 and be good to go?

Have to admit Verizon has proven to be the best coverage nationwide for me. But they are also the most expensive. AT&T is second best on coverage but a much easier company to deal with and for me cheaper than Verizon 4 smart phones one ipad. They are all out to make a profit Verizon just seemed more devious about it.

Or you could say you're getting what you pay for. VZW is providing the best coverage. You're getting less with other carriers, so you pay less.

The problem is that nobody is stepping up their game to compete with VZW on quality, so VZW has no reason to compete harder.

Will the Nexus 6 get an OTA update for Volte if ordered directly from google play ? (Using Verizon)

First thing first, so far, I love the Nexus 6 for as long as I've been using it now, & although i was one of many who thought the phone would be too big - wrong, it is perfect, especially for entertainment!!! , now the disappointing part : (

first thing I noticed when using my Nexus 6 while on navigation for the first time is that I couldn't talk & use navigation at the same time .... I thought this was a phone problem, but come to find out, Verizon has a select few phones they have approved for Volte ...something which we take for granted such as using voice & data at the same time, now seems like a luxury!!!

I understand carrier bought nexus 6 will eventually get on OTA update for Volte, but what about the Nexus 6 bought directly from google play, will we get an OTA update for Volte directly from google? ... in addition to using voice & data simultaneously, you will also be able to take advantage of hd calling while talking to other people whose mobile phones are Volte enabled among other things (Verizon & AT&T have partnered in this effort),

also, there are other in depth explanation over the forums & net detailing how different radio frequencies were used to handle voice and data separately, which is why this wasn't issue before, but now that verizon as well as other carriers are moving towards one frequency (which in the long run is an amazing thing) right now, it is an annoying disappointment for owners of new smartphones who aren't able to do something as simple as browse the web/use navigation while making a phone call at the same time ... Thanks in advance for your answers : )

Get the N6 and you're good to go.
