Having read numerous forum posts about the difficulty in getting a N6 to work on Verizon I knew I was in for a battle. However, it turned out to be easier that I thought.
First, a little backstory. I am a current Verizon customer using a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (which uses a micro SIM).
I bought my N6 from the Motorola website on 12/11. I immediately called Verizon and told them that I bought an iPhone 6 from the Apple website and that I needed a nano SIM. They said no problem and shipped me one free of charge.
The next week my nano SIM arrived and my N6 the day after. I put the nano SIM in my N6 and predictably it did not work. I then took it to an official Verizon store where two agents made multiple phone calls and tried for 45 minutes to get it to work. They finally gave up and told me, "...sorry, but this phone is not going to work on the Verizon network, you should return it and ask for your money back..." Uh huh, right. Thanks V-guys.
When I got home I called Verizon again and this time I told the rep I had an iPhone 6 that I was trying to get activated. The rep was hopelessly clueless and again, predictably, they could not get it to work.
Finally I insisted that I needed to talk to someone in tech support. She relented and cold transferred me.
Bob in tech support answered the phone. I told Bob the truth, that I had bought a N6 from the Motorola website, that I had a new Verizon nano SIM. Bob said, "...no problem, I know just what to do..." I read some numbers to Bob, I restarted my phone a couple of times, and BAM! it worked. Voice, text, data, everything. It's been about 10 days now and my N6 has been working perfectly on the Verizon network.
If you ever need to talk to someone in tech support at Verizon, particularly about your new N6, I sure hope you get Bob.
Oh yeah, and no Verizon bloatware to be found on my phone (yet).
