They were "out of inventory" as quickly as you could hit F5. It literally went from "Coming soon" to "Out of inventory" in less than 5 seconds. Not even apple fan boys can deplete a stock that fast.

THIS +10000. I mean the posts about they ran out because they held more for carriers is completely BS. There's NO way they ran out that fast. I mean it was literally seconds. And I too got trolled by F5'ing and got to click the Buy Now button twice only to have it erased from existence.

The launch was a total failure and equals that of the failed N4 launch day. Handled EXACTLY the same way. No word on when it was to really go live, no word from Google about the ordering debacle and left everyone with a bad taste.

Are they offering Cloud White online too, or just both sizes of the Midnight Blue?

I have no idea. The only color I see on the preorder is midnight blue.

Only blue they say. What do you mean preorder? T-Mobile has a preorder page??

They were originally going to take preorders, but opted instead to simply take orders on date of release (Nov. 12).



Also, from the following two posts, I would expect that Midnight Blue will be their only offered color.

Wouldn't be surprised if devices haven't even been, or is in process, of being shipped overseas...hence the late expectancy date for Play Store orders and carrier uncertainty.

At least November begins next week, so we gotta hear something soon about retail and carrier availability.

Does anyone have confirmation of that source a couple pages back? They said that Google Play stock was cut because more were sent to the carriers. That would explain the preorders going out of stock, because the Play Store simply wouldn't get restocked for a while.

While I do not think anyone has confirmation, this is probably the case. The only good thing about the debacle today is that I will probably get to try lollipop on my nexus 5 before making any decision to upgrade. I was definitely going to impulse buy one yesterday.

They should have just done what Best Buy use to do on preorders for phones... Make it very clear... $50 deposit to get a place in line and we will call you when a device becomes available (or with a play store order email you) make the $50 nonrefundable... Just take as many $50 deposits as people are willing to give you.... Then order devices in batches to cover a % of "Preorders" Once your spot in line comes up you get a confirmation email and you have 24 - 48 hours to confirm and pay the full price of the device.. If not you lose your $50.00 and your device goes to the next person in line behind you...

None of this "Out of stock" nonsense.... How are you out of stock on a preorder?????

Google isn't Oneplus... They could in theory afford to dump say $2 billion on 4 million devices and it would be nothing more than a write off... They made a profit of $3.6 billion in the third quarter alone (On pace to turn a $15 billion profit for the year) and reported $60 billion in cash on hand....

So "Sell out" in seconds is just crazy........

My local T-Mobile store said they are suppose to have SOME in stock on November 12... I refuse to go camp out or stand in line before they open... I am hoping they take deposits to hold a device... Just call me when they come in..... He said they were not planning that as of yet....

My local T-Mobile store said they are suppose to have SOME in stock on November 12... I refuse to go camp out or stand in line before they open... I am hoping they take deposits to hold a device... Just call me when they come in..... He said they were not planning that as of yet....

I know a pretty high up guy who works on device distributions for Sprint, and he told me that the plan is currently to also begin selling them on Nov 12, but it would probably be online only sales to begin with.

Yup.... be interesting to see if the very small minority of people who got a preorder in yesterday get their devices before or after November 12... I've also tried to get an answer from Best Buy Mobile on when they will start selling the Nexus 6 and at what price.... They still don't list it on their website anywhere....

or the crazy people bidding upwards of $1,200+ for the preorders on Ebay.... That is just insane...

I don't understand who bids on the pre-order its not like they are going to get the phone any faster than waiting a few weeks and buying the phone themselves. It must be about "peace of mind"

I've been trying to find out that myself. Yet to see a reviewer comment. Assuming feel is the same from matte finish, unlike the differences in nexus 5 color. Though the look of the silver band on white seems nicer compared to the Samsung look of the bluish metal tinge on the midnight blue version.
