Are they selling it unlocked?

If you go on Twitter and go to @askdes and dig down he said it is unlocked... T-Mobile will add the "Myaccount" app but it's deletable from the device...

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

The blogs have said nothing because they know something that we don't & probably can't say anything at the moment

Shouldn't have put up a preorder date and page if there is something behind the scenes up they can't talk about right now.... If they made deals with the carriers just direct people to the carrier sites..... Heck go to the iPhone website... You can buy it outright from Apple or they will sell it to you on contract with the carrier of your choice...

Google is an internet company right??? They should have some people over in Mountain view who can put together a decent e-commerce website... With simple links to carriers.... Right?????

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

The phone comes unlocked. One thing you want to take into consideration is the CDMA carriers won't activate it unless it's bought from Google Play or through them. Example try taking a Nexus 5 bought from T-Mobile to Sprint and they refuse to add that IMEI into their system. Knowing Verizon I'm sure that will be the case. Sprint has no problems activating IMEIs from the Play Store. If you're buying from T-Mobile to use on At&t then you should be fine. It's the CDMA carriers that are the issue here.

Re: Who ordered theirs today?

I'm wondering about that also, though it's probably something we will never know. I've only read about three people getting the 64GB, and a lot more the 32GB.

There was a Who Successfully Pre-ordered a Nexus 6 thread going yesterday. It is gone now. LOL Appropriate for the Halloween season I suppose.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

Although I'm still worried, I am talking solace that this was just the pre order. Maybe they will have some phones available on launch day, whenever that it. (12th?) I really don't want to buy one from a carrier. I'm with At&t and hate ordering from them, as well as Verizon when I was with them.

When you suggest they won't 'activate' a device if, for example, it was purchased from T-Mobile, do you mean with new service or that they won't allow service to operate on it even if one were just to throw an existing Verizon SIM in it?

As long as T-Mobile or AT&T are selling it for the same price as the play store I could careless... Save me $20 - 30 in shipping charges (which I was perfectly willing to pay to preorder but hey.... $$$ is $$$) with the Nexus 5 it was $100 cheaper to buy from the play store AND get the 32 GB version instead of the 16....

Sprint originally tried for two days to refuse my 32 GB Play Store Nexus 5..... when I took it over to T-Mobile I did have to do a factory reset to get the 3G and actual PHONE part to work.... throwing the T-Mobile SIM in only allowed me to use the LTE Network.... nothing else... and I spent an hour in a T-Mobile tech store with them trying to figure out why... reset was the only thing that fixed it...

Yes but quickly fixed that issue. They won't activate a T-Mobile bought N5 though.

Thats the case with Sprint. And knowing how Verizon everyone is just making this assumption as well. Hopefully they change that but highly unlikely.

In prep for getting the Nexus 6 and bringing it to Sprint, I started reading threads at Sprint's forums about the Nexus 5. Here's a long one, but in summary, you cannot bring in a T-Mobile Nexus phone. Sprint tracks Google Play purchased Nexus and Sprint purchased Nexus all others are not recognized. https://community.sprint.com/baw/thread/150262?tstart=0

yes which is totally crazy... there is no difference in a play store Nexus 5 or a T-Mobile Nexus 5.. Outside of who you bought it from.... and considering I was a Sprint customer for 15+ years before finally leaving them (and all data points to them losing customers in droves each quarter and they have not been a very profitable company in a while) They should be happy to just be adding subscribers no matter what..... $50, 60, 70 a month from as many people as possible no matter where the phone came from... If it works on their network they should allow you to use it on their network... The profit margin in the hardware is minimal...

It's why they sell you $600 - 800 devices for only what amounts to anywhere from "FREE" to $300 down if you stay for two years....

Re: Limited preorders because meant to be sold through carriers?

Yeah sounds that way..... Will be interesting... Only T-Mobile has announced a "DATE" so far..... I've asked Best Buy mobile and they have no sale date... I heard Verizon was going to be early December as the device isn't yet certified for their LTE network.... No clue what AT&T is doing.... kind of making me feel like Maybe T-Mobile got a back door exclusive launch deal and others will follow in the following weeks.

Wouldn't be the first time... Wasn't the Moto X exclusive to AT&T for the first month last year?? or something like that......

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

Does lenovo finalising the purchase of moto help with the release of the nexus 6 ??

Re: When will we see Nexus 6 reviews and carrier dates?

Not much, but it's another one :) <drool>

I'm not sure what to call it exactly, but Tmobile has always had some kind of good relationship with Google and Nexus phones. It's always available on their network and they advertise it. I've been considering going back to them, but I like my At&t Mobile share plan.

I have the TMobile $30.00 pre paid 100Min/5GB plan I've been hanging on to. I may use that to get a Nexus 6. My issue with going in the stores is they want to open the box and set the phone up for you. All I want to do is buy the phone outright, box sealed, and leave.

Exactly the plan I use...... I made the move from Sprint to T-Mobile when the Nexus 5 came out.... I only average 60 - 80 minutes of talk a month and 5 gig usually gets me through a month pretty decently.. I usually just go over each month and have a day or two of SLOW connection..

But I've never bought a device from them before..... I am going to want to do the same.. Buy it.. Give me a good SIM card to fit in the Nexus 6 on my plan and send me on my way.. I can figure the rest out on my own....

What is the "Date" for TMobile availability?

Re: Google Nexus 6 When will the reviews start?

Always good to know what the box looks like..... I was able to get an HTC EVO a few days early from a Walmart... I knew what the box looked like and just pointed it out and the lady rang me up and I walked out with it.... and they even gave it to me under contract and on my plan.... The technology at the register might have improved making that harder to do now but with an outright price and knowing what the box looks like you might be able to snoop around a Walmart that has lots of T-Mobile phones on display and sneak one early.....
