Re: At what time will the Pre Orders start?
Man I need to make a decision and fast. I'm debating on ordering between the Play store or T-Mobile.... Since they are carrying the 64gb version as well. I'll save some money going through T-Mobile compared to the play store. Decisions... Decisions.
iirc, T-Mobile stores will only be carrying the 32GB model. If that's correct, then your only savings would be the shipping (presuming T-Mobile doesn't charge shipping), though of course if you live in a state where Google doesn't have a local corporate presence you may escape sales tax from the Play store. Just my 2¢, but with all else being pretty much the same, and if the payment installment plan isn't a huge motivator for you, I would recommend buying from the Play store even for an extra $15-20 in shipping.
If you have any concerns (defects, etc) that cause you to seek a replacement within the period of 'buyer's remorse,' you'd have to ship your unit and await receipt of a replacement unit from either (I know Google covers shipment cost both ways, can't speak for T-Mobile). But after that period is over and you enter the regular warranty period, Google will, assuming they maintain the same practice as they have with the Nexus 4, 5, and 7's, ship to you a replacement device and return-shipping label, both at their expense, upon over-the-phone diagnosis of an issue and confirmation of warranty eligibility. T-Mobile will refer you to Motorola to seek warranty coverage (though you might get direct replacement if you are subscribed to their premium warranty or insurance program).
Google's warranty service on products purchased through its Play store is pretty much the best I've experienced. Consider that recently they were offering free (one-time) replacements, including free shipping, for Nexus 5's purchased from their store
even if the phone's screen had been cracked.
I like T-Mobile a lot for the value they offer in their services, but man, Google's customer service sets the bar. Of course, I've had to wait as long as 30 seconds to speak to a live person -- they need to work on that.
