Did you cancel your pre-order after reading the reviews?

Re: Anyone cancel their order after reading reviews?

Nope, I'm going to form my own opinion. The reviews that I have seen have not been all that bad, the one common thing I have seen people say is that it's big...and we all know that.

Re: Anyone cancel their order after reading reviews?

I posted this in another thread, but will put it here too:

When it comes to movies and phones, I will read the reviews.
A review is not going to keep me from seeing or not seeing a movie or buying or not buying a phone.
If I want to see a movie or buy a phone, I will.
To each their own.
If we were all the same, it would be a really boring world. :)

Re: It's a typical Nexus phone, full of compromises

Yeah I thought about the Turbo as well, but I'm on T-Mobile so it's a non-factor. Moto X was also in play for me, but I decided to stick with the Nexus family. I've had the 4 & 5, and I love them both, so I figured why not stick with what I know works for me. $700 is lot, but since my contract is minuscule compared to what most people pay and I'm not tied to a contract it's not horrible. Besides I financed it through Motorola with zero interest. Now the only problem I have is that the N6 is taking so long to get here, and I cracked the screen on my N5 just yesterday.

Yeah I am on T-Mobile as well.. I use that Walmart $30 a month prepaid plan... I never go over 100 minutes of talk and the 5 GB of data at LTE speeds has been enough for my real world use since I am on WiFi at home and work anyway.... Compared to my unlimited everything plan on Sprint before I was paying almost $80 a month.. so $50 a month over a year saved me $600 right there.. Plus I'll be able to get about $250 - 300 for my 32 GB Nexus 5 on Swappa........ So it kind of is a wash vs a discounted contract option..

I really liked the 2014 Moto X... and in the spirit of splitting hairs... I passed almost entirely because it didn't have wireless charging... I bought 3 TYLT wireless chargers and I've just loved that option.. No more fumbling around with a USB cable or having it accidentally fall down behind my desk or nightstand/bed... Totally Diva style nit picking but that is the only reason I waited to see what the Nexus 6 was about... Love the 6 inch screen concept as well.. and I've loved my Nexus 5.... It's done an admirable job over the last 13 months I've had it.....

Re: Anybody else disappointed with screen battery life and camera ?

Exactly... There are about 3 who you'll find posting in a bunch of different Nexus 6 post nothing but agenda based negativity like this is a political race for a HOT Senate seat....

I agree. I just want a chance to try the phone for myself.

Re: Anyone cancel their order after reading reviews?

I was on the fence but after reading the reviews of the mediocre battery and camera I'm going to cancel my pre-order. I was always on the fence so I'm not sure I'm a good example. This would have been an extra phone to use alongside my iphone. I just wasn't ready to spend $700 unless the camera and battery were similar to my iphone.

I wish I could give transfer pre-order to someone here! haha

Re: Anybody else disappointed with screen battery life and camera ?

I am done even responding to your nonsense. There are no side by side comparisons in the Verge article that disprove anything and it is obvious to anyone reading your posts that you are on a mission of misinformation and have an agenda.

Lmao I have no agenda.... I am just starting I am extremely disappointed in the nexus 6 camera which in fact is medicore compared to the Sony z3 or note 4 or even the iPhone 6 plus. I have never said there was a comparison video and the verge article itself just discredits the so called computer world (Lmao) comparison article. The verge article shows some vivid pictures used with the note 4 in broad daylight that isn't washed out like the ones posted by computer world which just means that guy had no clue how to use a camera

I just went in and blocked all 3 of them... Nice they have an ignore function on the forum.... I don't mind constructive negativity... Once we all have one I'll listen to anyone who has a gripe with something on their phone and check to see if it's an issue for me and I won't hesitate to post any negativity I find as a way to see if someone has an alternate option or solution I am not aware of...

But this blind negativity towards something people have ZERO true knowledge or hands on with is amazing...

Re: Anyone cancel their order after reading reviews?

Nexus 6 blows iphone6 away in general. Battery and camera both a bit better than iphone6 except for video recording where iphone6 is better out of the gate anyway...

There's no agenda.... I'm just starting facts the screen brightness is terrible and camera is decent. They are major factors why I buy a phone and a nexus 6 fails it. I was actually going to buy one until about 24 hours ago. Need to get off the nexus hype train and realize the camera isn't up to snuff and multiple reviews back me up

Re: Anyone cancel their order after reading reviews?

I cancelled my 32gb from the playstore yesterday but only because I really want the 64gb. I'm just going to wait it out until they release more 64 models...I feel like It'll be a good month or so before I can get my hands on one.

I have iPhone 6 plus and all reviews I've seen show the 6 and 6 plus are better than the nexus in camera and 6 plus better in battery by quite a bit. I didn't see any stat the nexus blew away the iphone in except PPI.

I don't want to turn this into an ios vs android thread because I love both!

Re: Anyone cancel their order after reading reviews?

Check out the reviews that actually show comparison photos - not fan reviews from fan boys of either. I have seen some mixed reviews on battery life but no dramatic difference either way..

You have zero idea about mobile cameras and that statement above proves it. Enjoy ridiculous camera/shutter/processing lag on your Nexus 6 to get middle of the road image quality.

Only thing that has me considering it is the very dim panel.

I'll have what you're smoking.

Re: Anyone cancel their order after reading reviews?

Don't get me wrong everyone, I WANT to love this phone. I still haven't clicked that cancel button. I am holding out hope that something, anything will convince me to spend $700 on it. haha

Re: Anyone cancel their order after reading reviews?

Nope. The overall consensus is rather positive among reviewers I think despite benchmarks showing some issues. Although I don't like to rely fully on benchmarks and would like to get my hands on the phone itself. If I'm not satisfied, I'll return within the 14-day window.

Probably could have taken delivery of the device and then put it on Swappa and offered it up to someone on here at your cost plus the swappa and paypal fees.... Or went all out and made a profit....
