Google Nexus 6 Random reboots?

I'm hoping 5.0.1 fixes this. I was laying in bed, things were working fine on my phone. Unplugged it, got dressed, as I was leaving my house, BAM.. DOO DOO DOO.. stupid AT&T sound..

What's odd was the first couple times this happened, I couldnt power the screen on. So I would press and hold the power button to reboot it. The last couple times it's made the AT&T reboot sound, I just left it.. checked it like 10 minutes later and it was back to normal.

Do we know if anyone's sent in a ticket to Google about this?

How can Motorola recall the AT&T Nexus when this is happening to people who bought from Motorola or Google and are just using an AT&T SIM?

This isn't an AT&T device specific issue.. it's an issue using an AT&T SIM inside the Nexus 6.

[Q] AT&T Random Reboot - Solution? | Nexus 6 | XDA Forums

The boot sound comes on with phones bought from Motorola or Google, as well as straight from AT&T??!! I've been holding out to buy one from either Motorola or Google rather than on contract with AT&T because i do NOT want that sound every time I turn on or reboot my phone. It's not just an aversion to the actual sound, but also a practical matter for the times it would be inappropriate to have my phone making noise.

No it does not.

Have you actually used it on the N6? The reason I'm asking is because, when I checked it out at the Play Store, there was one comment (dated 11/29) stating that it had worked on another phone but would not work on the N6.

I haven't, and won't be able to until Friday. But it has worked on all previous devices.

I haven't gone back and referenced every complaint about the reboots here and on XDA, but I'm wondering if the common denominator is not where the phone was purchased but the carrier (AT&T)? Could it be their Sim card or something else about their particular setup that triggers this?

Only the ones purchased from AT&T have the AT&T boot sound and logo.. but it seems that no matter where you get your Nexus 6 from, when using it with an AT&T sim, you're susceptible to random rebooting.

The ATT versions basically had KitKat installed I thought.

I only read a couple people having that and it was from a Droid-Life post that Kellen posted..

Infact, I can't find a single issue of someone complaining about the Motorola issue that wasn't exactly what everyone is complaining about regardless of where the device was purchased from.

According to this post,

http://www.droid-life.com/2014/11/21/att-stores-being-told-to-ship-nexus-6-inventory-back-due-to-software-bug/

The bug renders a black screen and fails to connect to service when the device is powered on, essentially leaving the device useless.
^^^^ I've not experienced this at all. I get the reboot sound and black screen requiring me to manually reboot.

Just stop. It has nothing to do with AT&T. I have T-Mobile and a phone from T-Mobile, I'm I'm randomly rebooting daily.

You're woefully confusing two issues. I give up.

Moving on to anyone that can listen. Another random reboot today. They better fix this f*cking phone and OS quick.

So.. as I take it, its just not ATT people who are getting the random reboots? I just got another random reboot about 5 minutes ago. makes for a total of..about 3 or 4, since I got the phone before Thanksgiving.

I am really hoping this is only a Software bug ;[ I would hate for it to be a hardware issue and I don't get it returned in time to get a replacement or something.
What mine does is, it reboots (just like your pc is restarting) I don't have to press the power button for mine to come back on. it comes on itself, a second after powering off.

Right. This has NOTHING to do with the AT&T issue.

Same thing happens to me.

It may be a compatibility issue with something you have installed on there. Perhaps one of your apps isn't playing well with Lollipop. Either that, or it may be a hardware issue (which I'd doubt). I don't think it's software, as if it were, the problem would be much more prevalent. Myself, I've had the Nexus 6 since 11/17, and I have not had a single reboot at all (mine is from the Play Store).

Read the thread. It's pretty prevalent. Agree could be an app though. Since lollipop is new.

Hm..I never took into account that it could be a app. That's a good idea, I wouldn't know where even to begin though. Think its worth bringing this sort of problem to Att's attention to see what they say? (Granted some of their online chat reps and customer support don't even know what a Nexus 6 is...-.-)

Edit: Take a look through this thread. They were thinking its app related or even ambient display related http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/help/att-random-reboot-solution-t2951248

For the last time, it is MKT an AT&T issue! This issue is occurring with other N6 as well.
