Hi,

Whenever I put my phone on my shoulder while I am on a call to be able to use my 2 hands, callers tell me they can't hear me well. When I take it off and hold it normally again they can hear me clearly. Does that happen to anyone else?

Thanks

Re: Callers saying they can't hear me well

I'm on a note 4 and I always have people tell me that if I don't hold the phone directly up against my face. Sometimes when I'm talking, it's up against my ear at the top, but I pull the phone at an angle away from mouth and get the same reply from people. That also leads me to a question about the 6P speakerphone. People always have trouble hearing or understanding me on my Note 4. It's very irritating, because I don't always have my bluetooth on. How is the speaker for phone calls on the Nexus 6P?

I'm having the same issue with the 6P. Moving the mic just 1/2 inch in one direction seems to be an issue. Not sure how to correct this. Never had this issue with my Note 3. If it continues I may just send the phone back to Google before the 14 days are up.

Same happens to me. This is my second unit with the 3rd on its way. Hopefully the 3rd unit will work properly. If not I will have to send the phone back and go back to Moto X. I'm not sure how widespread this issue actually is, since not whole lot of people complains about it but I had issue with both of my 6P's.

I am pretty sure it is the noise cancellation process that is the culprit here. I did a writeup about my experience here:

http://forums.androidcentral.com/nexus-6p/608121-noise-canceling-mic-causing-bad-call-audio.html

When I cover the back mic up with my finger the quality goes up 10X. The mic hardware is fine as it records sound in video great. I believe the noise cancellation software is the problem here.

Is there a website where we can record bugs for this phone specifically?

It's actually getting annoying because I use my phone so much while on my shoulder.

Love the phone don't want this to be a deal breaker.

The speakerphone is pretty solid. No complaints much better than my note 4

Noise cancellation is the culprit here, no need to doubt that. However current solution is limited since native dialer does not have the option to turn it off. It either wait until Google realize and calibrate it (Which is very hard) or give us a option to disable noise cancellation.

I've had a problem with big phones with holding it on my shoulder but its on the iPhone 6+, LG G3, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P. So its me not the phones.

Interesting my Note 4 did not have that issue but my Nexus 6 did. You might be on to something

I have this same issue as well. It seems like the Nexus 6P's mic is too far away from my mouth from the other end. With my Note 3 I was able to speak into the phone from any angle within a 5-10cm distance from mic.

Every caller mentions they can't hear me but when I move slightly or have the ear piece right near the top of my ear, and mouth a bit lower it resolves it. But still intermittent. I think my face may be too small 😕

So I have a feeling that my shoulder is blocking the mic in the back so I was on a call normally then I blocked the mic and callers said it sounded when it was on my shoulder.
