Had my phone off the charger for 3 hours and it is still at 100%. Best new feature hands down!

Agreed. It's amazing to look at the battery graph and see nearly horizontal lines for periods where the phone was just sitting on the nightstand or table.

Doz?

A lot people talk about Doz.
Is it something built into Marshmellow that activates automatically? or is it something I can configure and turn on/off?

It's automatic. After the phone sits for awhile it turns off background data syncs and certain processes.

Thanks man!

Now you know how us iPhone users have felt all this time welcome to the awesome standby club!

Longest time I my iPhone stayed at 100% was 11 hours.

I got a 6P recently just to test out and I charged it along with my 6S+ to 100% right before I went to sleep and then unplugged to compare when I woke. After 7 hours my iPhone was still at 100% while the 6P had gone to 97%. Not bad though considering the android phones I actually used to use as my daily drivers would lose 10-15% just in standby in less time!

Re: Doze...unbelievable

I was blown away at only dropping 2% after 10 hours sleeping (yes I was very tired lol). I was losing 6-8% on my last phone overnight.

Re: Doze...unbelievable

Cannot wait for Marshmellow. It's the second time I've been egor for an update. Jellybean was the last time I was excited.

Re: Doze...unbelievable

Anyone having an issue with Wifi not allowing doze to kick in? Whenever I'm connected to wifi doze won't activate, I turned off wifi on my phone last night and doze finally kicked in, lost only 2% overnight. Otherwise I'm losing 8-10% overnight. This is especially frustrating at work, as my phone sits on my desk for most of the day but due to terrible reception I'm on wifi the entire time. My SOT has also been really bad, around 2-2.5 hours.

Wifi scanning is off, bluetooth is off, location is off, google now always listening is off.

Its probably just the bad reception, that will kill your battery regardless if your on WiFi or not.

Re: Doze...unbelievable

At work I do have bad reception, but at home I have great reception. That isn't the problem regarding doze, as last night I turned off wifi and only lost 2% overnight.

Re: Doze...unbelievable

Doze is incredible. Pretty well doubled the battery life of my Nexus 5. As for my 6P, it's flat out amazing. After 10 hours it's down 3-4 %. Last time my phone saw a charger was a full 48 hours ago, and I still have 30%. Probably won't have to charge again until sometime tomorrow, and my phone is new so I've been playing with it a decent amount. WiFi on, works perfectly.

take a picture of the battery screen like I did in the original post and post it up so we can see it.

well iphone kinda cheats in that front. after a few min of use it drops from 100% to 97 or 98%

Same thing happens with my ipad. i once charged it 100% and went for a vacation for 3 days.

I was surprised to see it still at 100% used it for a while and it went down quickly.
I agree iOS standby is lot better than android

Re: Doze...unbelievable

I have had a similar experience so far.. after about a week with the phone, I am averaging around 2% lost from ~7 hours of sleep, with highs of 4% and a low of 1%.

It's awesome.. so much so that Doze + faster charging has changed my habits.. instead of charging overnight I charge in the morning when I get to work.

You must have your iPhone off or something. My fiancee has a 6+ and forgets to plug it in overnight sometimes and does not have zero battery drain on standby. Typically 3-5% over eight hours.

Re: Doze...unbelievable

Everyone I know with an iPhone is always complaining about battery life, and they take a long time to charge. The 6S only has a 1,715 mAh battery. It only has to push that small low-res screen, so that helps a lot I imagine, but battery life is not it's forte from my own experience (have owned several in the past) and from what my friends tell me about the latest models. They have OK standby, but definitely not zero drain. My 6P is outlasting my friends 6S+ by a good margin with similar usage (admittedly a fairly rough test).
