Google Now - am I missing something?

Qwikstrike - I am happy that it answers questions and performs actions based on my location. It also has a good reminder system. However, I was really asking how to get it to live up to the claim made for it by Google:

"See helpful cards with information that you need throughout your day, before you even ask."

So far, apart from the weather and driving times, it has told me nothing I haven't actively asked it, despite my long-term use of Google and Chrome.

I have taken Jalan94's advice and set my main private email address to forward to gmail. Let's see if Now can learn something about me....

Just answering my active questions doesn't take a whole home screen in the interface design - that is covered by the one-line search bar.

I Love the reminder and add event and add alarm features because I don't have to think on my own anymore, I don't have to forget my kids at school when iI get lost in work and I don't burn pizza anymore because iam like the absent minded professor!

I can hear about a great place to eat in another town and set aa reminder to check that place out next time I'm in that town...a very cool feature when your friends start racing about a restaurant...I also have noticed that when igo to my parents itended to check what movies where playing when I went...now Google now sends me a card with what is playing when i pull into town...if I ask about a sports team it sends me reminders of when the next game is on. If I search a movie it will remind me when it comes out so i can see it. It is great for finding the nearest thing as well which I would use more if ilived in the city. But the reminders are my biggest love. They have a special ringtone so I know that there is something I myself thought wad important enough to set a special notification about going on and not done stupid Facebook update i can ignore. It would be really hard to live without it.
