Updating Play Store (was 4.1.6) did the job for me. Phone requires restart to get the service running again.

I have recently purchased an HTC One. Had the same problem for since I got it. Getting a gps signal worked sometimes but mostly not. Google now always stated location services were turned off even though everything was checked on. I did a factory reset last night and so far everything is working great! Location services are almost instant. Kind of a pain to have to do but it resolved the issue for me. Yes, I have updated all the latest google apps since reseting and everything still working great.

I had this issue and after hard reset it worked like a charm till about a week ago. Now back to square one, Google now never shows me my location cards, never shows how far to work or how long will it take, only weather and basketball really pisses me off!!! Store updated to 4.1.10 for a while now nothing changed.

At last! Problem solved on my One X, unlocked, on Orange in the UK.

Updating Play Store then just a simple restart has restored my Google Now.

This fixed it for me as well. I'm on an HTC One S. I downloaded the updated version of the play store on my phone by going to this site: Download: Latest Google Play Store 4.1.10 With Location Bug Fixes

Downloaded, ran it, then restarted my phone and now Google Now is picking up my location.

My store shows its 4.1.10 I dont remember doing it, but my selection says update apps via wifi which is everyday.
