Google Now on Note 5

I recently switched back to the N5 after a brief fling with an iPhone. I restored the N5 from a backup. Unfortunately I can't get any Google Now cards to show my calendar entries. I manually enter my work schedule into my Gmail calendar so I use to get a card showing my next "appointment". So far I've tried restarting the phone and also removing that gmail account and re-adding. In the settings it looks like that account is set to sync with Google Now. Any ideas?

That's a good idea. What are the buttons I push to get in to that menu? I have only done that once before.

Volume down, home, and power buttons.

Well I cleared the cache. It was volume up though, not volume down. Hopefully I didn't trip that Knox thing by going into the other menu. Lol! Unfortunately I still don't have my calendar cards.

I've never had them on my Note 5 since buying it in January.

Also, you can't trip knox just by going into the other menu which is download mode and can be use to restore the phone.

Okay and on the flipside, I've always had and still have them on my Note 5 ...
I'm pretty sure this is a Google issue rather than a phone issue, some hiccup in their servers possibly? ...

My 2 cents is that it's probably a Google issue. When such a big organization provides detailed personal services to gadzillions of users, there's gonna be some spooky stuff.

For instance, my account suffers from a broken "Show me my last messages" command. Works for others, broken for some. Doesn't appear to have anything to do with the local hw/sw. Just spooky IMO.

Have you considered touching base over at the Google Product forums?

The weird thing is, is when I had a Nexus 4, the calendar cards never showed on it either. there were other people on this forum in the Nexus forum who had the same problem as well.
