Is there a way or app that you can use to synchronise a mac to a Samsung Galaxy S5 to leave a reminder that will alert you on both devices a bit lik reminders on mac will alert you on an iPhone also

I think that if you have Chrome installed on the Mac, any reminders you set with Google Now will also pop up on the Mac, as long as Chrome is running in the background. This is how it works on the PC and Chromebook.

EDIT: Actually, I think I'm wrong. I just tried it, and the reminder didn't pop up in my desktop Chrome. I'll have to look into this a little more.
