I launched the web browser on the Epic phone and went to Google. The first thing I noticed at the bottom of the page was that it said 'use GPS.' I did not have WiFi or GPS on. I closed the web browser and turned on WiFi and GPS, then launched the web browser again and went to Google. As soon as the page loaded, the location decided that I was in Florida. The location that should have been displayed was New York. The update link did nothing to change the location.
On another note, I downloaded and installed Fancy Widgets Pro from the Amazon marketplace (I understand this app has now been discontinued and is now Fancy Widgets). Anyways, I'm using the location feature which displays my current location and weather. I have auto detect location and use GPS satellites checked. For reasons that I cannot determine, the location changes itself randomly from New York to Florida.
So, there seems to be some sort of location detection issue going on, and I am wondering what is causing this to happen and if there is a way to fix it. It would be nice to have the correct location display for Google so that when I search for something, at least I will get relevant results.
