Google Photo question

What app are you viewing the pictures in? I would hope that it would use the EXIF data, which should be preserved, rather than the file attribs.

Ok, so I'm finally done.

I installed QuickPic (which is what I used on my S5) and it has a "Fix Date" feature that uses the Exif data like you mentioned. That got 95% my pics back in order, and they're all in /Iss/DCIM/Camera. Then I broke them down into folders/albums, and was able to get the wallpapers out of the way like that. Now, everything is on the phone and organized.

My next (and hopefully final) step is to clean out Google Photos and set up my backups to reflect how my phone is now organized. That should only take a few minutes.

WHEW! What a production! But worth it I think, because Photos was the 2nd biggest data hog next to Facebook for me. I guess whenever I scrolled through an album that was in the cloud, it was fetching those photos from the cloud and slowly eating up my data.
