Google Photos Access SD Card??

I am a bit used to a rooted and ROMd phone. Is there any way to have google photos access to the SD card so that it can delete photos without me having to hop over to the gallery?

I think that needs to be built into the ROM.

Thanks. I guess i'll just stop using Google Photos for managing photos and only use it for syncing.
