Google Photos download error

On both mine & my wife's At&t S7, when we download a photo from Google Photos, the picture doesn't show up in the download album in the Gallery app, but instead just a grayed out pic with an error symbol in the middle shows instead.

We have had our phones since day 1 & this has never happened before & just started all of a sudden.

We have tried clearing data, restarting phone, & clearing cache partition, but nothing fixes it.

When I try to download a photo from Google Photos on my Tab S2, it works like it should & the picture shows in the download album in the Gallery app. Just appears to be isolated to our S7's.

Just wondering if anybody else has had this issue. Thanks in advance.

I'm having the issue on my Note 5. Seems it is a Google Photos issue.

They did just update the application. Maybe they messed it up.
