Google photos problem

Re: Date photo was taken

You're missing a step somewhere... Open the photo on the web and click the INFO button. You should see something like this appear on the right side. Click the pencil icon beside the date on the far right

Step 1.png

Once you click that, the following box will appear where you can change the date and time zone

Step 2.png

Again, though, this is NOT related to the Galaxy S5 so the mods may end up closing this thread or moving it.

This post is directly related to my samsung galaxy s5. The pencil icon does show, but disappears when selecting , without anything happening. What else can be wrong?

Google Photos faces

I have many photos with visible faces. Only a few show separately. How can I get Google Photos to rescan and separate the photos into it's own folder? Thanks.

Change date of Photos

I have some photos that I received that were taken by other cameras. As a result, they are stored in Google Photos with the date I received it. How do I change the date to the date the photo was taken? Thanks.

Re: Change date of Photos

You can do it on the web at photos.google.com. Open the photo (on a computer) and click the little "i" (info) button, then the pencil beside the date.

If you have a LOT to do, I would recommend downloading them all to a computer and using an EXIF editor to update them all, then re-upload to Google Photos.

Thanks. I'll try it when I get access to a laptop.

How can I share photos from Google Photos in email on desktop?

I'm at my wits end about this problem. I need to communicate with an expert on Google Photos. Google Photos runs perfectly on my smartphone. I select a few photos, and using the SHARE command, I can email them. The SHARE command presents my email client and the rest is a piece of cake. Google Photos on windows does not present my email client. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

re:

You can add to a shared album, which lets you choose who to share with. Or click the "get link" and send that link in the email. That link takes them to those photos.

re:

I am not familiar with the Google photos app on a pc but I do know that the windows apps are different from those on android. It's been a few months since I have used a computer

re:

There is no option in photos.google.com to send directly to email. As AssassinDroid stated, you can either put your pics in a shared album or just select them all individually, click SHARE, then get the link to the pictures. Open your email client, paste the link and your recipient can view the photos. Just be sure to click "DONE" once you've generated the link or it won't work. I've forgotten to do this many times...

Google Drive photos

When I save a file to Google Drive, it goes into the FILES in Google Drive. When I try to move it into the Files section, the move does not work. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Re: Google Drive photos

Your question reads saved files go to files and then how do I move it to files? Please clarify however, if you don't have another folder except *files*; make another. Long press on the item to move and drag it to the new folder. I hope my answer helped.

You were right. I used the word files instead of folders.
I had been using the 3 dot menu on the right and then choosing MOVE. It used to work. But I tried your suggestion and DRAGGED the file up to FOLDERS. That worked. I thank you very much for your help.

Captions on Google Photos

Is there a way to attach bubble type captions to Google photos so they show when printing. Thanks.

I have Snapseed. If it has that ability, I missed it. I'm looking for bubble captions, similar the stickers you can attach anywhere on the photos. Thanks.
